News and Notes: O-Line Woes
Is the career of six time Pro Bowl left tackle Chris Samuels in jeopardy? Samuels went down with a stinger, and to football fans, that’s generally something they associate with a lot of pain, but not much of a recovery time; but there’s a lot more to the situation because of Chris’ Stenosis condition (a narrowing of the spine).
Mid-Week News and Notes
Defensive end Renaldo Wynn was re-signed to the roster. In order for Washington to sign replacement punter Glenn Pakulak for the Panthers game, Wynn was released last week.
Why, Why, Why?
Why on earth do people constantly throw Vinny Cerrato under the bus as what ‘ails this franchise?’

Redskins Hire Lewis, Sign Pakulak
The Redskins have made some moves this week to address issues of varying natures…
Punter Glenn Pakulak was signed to the practice squad, and Washington released wide receiver Trent Shelton to make the room.
Caps Clipped In Overtime
Danny Briere celebrated his 32nd birthday with a game winning goal in overtime, and gave the Philadelphia Flyers a 6-5 win over the Washington Capitals. The Flyers’ home opener looked like it might be a pretty conservative affair after a scoreless first period, but seven goals in the second frame turned it into a barn burner.
Varlamov To Start
In the PreCap broadcast at 2pm today, the official pregame show of the Washington Capitals, Mike Vogel revealed that Semyon Varlamov will be getting the start tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers. It is Varlamov’s second consecutive start, after Jose Theodore started in the season opener against the Boston Bruins. They also talked about Jeff Schultz … Read more
