26 sure is a popular number!

Sean Taylor wants 26, although he realizes that several others on the team want it as well. If Ohalete won't give/sell it to Portis or Morton, somehow I don't see him giving it to the Safety who just bumped him back to the bench.

What I mean is the fact that most contracts have accelerators in them. Look at Lavar's contract. He is costing us next to nothing over the next few years, but in four years his contract escalates to 10 mil + a year. When that happens to a players contract, you see people get cut.

Why not play for ...

Winslow has been rumored to have picked the Poston's as his agent and I believe I heard that he was also charging agents to talk to him. Sounds like he's just after the almighty dollar. Take that and his behavior on the sidelines and in interviews last season and I don't believe he's Joe's idea of ...

Next year Samuel's cap hit will be 9.6 million and the year after 11.3 million. I'm thinking that's what jklote defines as worse. Plus, I think Winey did an excellent job taking over last year and if Brunell wins the starting job, then Jansen will be protecting his blind side NOT Samuels.

Sure he had a hard time shaking his defender. He usually had the #1 corner playing him (we put Champ on him everytime). But he shouldn't be the #1 receiver. At best he's #2 and shouldn't draw the same kind of attention here as he did in Philly.

I think that some of Gardner's so-so performance last year was due to the failure of the Spurrier experiment, and the fact that he was getting used to no longer being the No. 1 guy. Still, didn't he have like 80 catches? Thats pretty good!

Too bad we had to throw it his way about 160 times for ...

BTW it's next years draft pick we gave up for him, so we still have a 5th rounder this year.

James Thrash is a stand up guy and a great locker room presence. A Joe Gibbs "Core Redskin" Completely unlike the guy he was a receiver behind last time he was a Skin ... Albert Connell!

My take:
RB: Skins, Cowgirls, Eagles, Giants
Portis is by far the best RB in the NFC East. Tiki fumbles like 3x a game, so the Giants are automatically last. He was overrated at UVA, and the trend continues in the NFL. The Cowgirls will take a stud in the draft.

When it comes to RB, I think ...

Todd Heap is the leading receiver for the Ravens. If they had a QB and some WR to go along with, he could be the same kind of weapon as Tony G. and Shockey. BTW we DO have the QB and WR which would allow us to properly use a game-changing TE.

As far as Safety, look at the Safeties for the top ...

We've already got plenty of depth at linebacker, and if he got cut after the first mini-camp then I'm sure that Joe and Greg saw something they did'nt like.
As far as BJ, I really thought he was a "core" Redskins kinda guy ... but that cap # was too much. And I gotta give the front office credit ...

He led us to a good lead over Miami. Our defense just couldn't hold it for him. Not to mentioned he had only been with the team for 3 weeks? With a little more "coachin" up, he'll be more than adequate as 3rd string. In fact, he's probably better than most teams 2nd string.

And to think, in Spurriers first year he had to tell the Offense what the D was bringing just to be able to get off some plays in practice.
