The reason this board is so great is because it allows people to voice their opinions without prejudice. No matter if you like Gambit or his views he should be heard (as long as they are in the right forum). It is amazing that there are so-called Redskin fans who are not as educated on our history/transactions etc as our friend Gambit (although his opinions are some what jaded and biased). Anyway, I respect BH and staff and what they have accomplished here in giving us Skins fans a place to call home but it just wouldn't be the same without the pestering from a few lost souls. Just my My 2 cents.

I read the whole thread, and I don't think gambit was being offensive. It got a little prickly from both sides, but after all, it is Cowboys and Redskins.

I think it's interesting that the original post was called "mistakes can hurt US, I know". Especially when it's written about Redskins mistakes by a Cowboys fan. Is the good side creeping in?

I think Gambit made some valid points regarding our past offseason acquisitions, which, with the recnt moves orchestrated by Gibbs are definitely getting cleaned up. Snyder made pretty big mistakes trying to market the team instead of building it into a contender. However, we now have a man who will turn this team into contenders, not pretenders.

As for the health of coaches, I believe the Post said that coach Gibbs lined up at CB to teach some things to the receivers. When's the last time you saw the blowfish (aka the "TUNA") do any type of physical activity? Props to the blowfish, though, for comin' in and makin' "America's Team"(what a joke) into "Parcell's Team". Joe will do the same with the Skins. See ya in the fall!!!

What it sounds like is he likes conflict so he says that he is a cowboy's fan but deep down he love our Skins the most. Probably has a Lavar jersey and everything.

Nope Die hard COWBOY FAN, but as an aspiring agent I do recognize good talent. Oh and as a Capotist I do know that buying a card for 2 bucks and a jersey for 60 and having them signed and being able to sell that card for 100 and that jersey for say 500 later on down the road is good investment.

Honestly when the Skin lose big and show nothing on the field. I get hurt alittle, but on the other hand when they lose a close game, I am happy as hell.

As long as you guys dont beat us, dont out rank us, and dont let the EAGLES when any championships i am happy

I hope you are right Gambit - last time I say him he looked like a heartattack waiting to happen. Same with Reid and a lot of other coaches. Geez guys, get it together. Fat ain't where it's at.

As much as I love the Redskins, the picture on the front of Saturday's Post of Gibbs was...um...interesting. Looks like he's starting to get back into his idea of coaching shape.

Maybe late nights in the film room just aren't complete without a box of ho-hos.

Who cares how many posts I've made? You could have 300 posts but when you come off sounding like a drunken 12-year-old, it kind of delegitimizes you, no?

And I seriously don't see any of the valid or intelligent "points" that Gambit has made. I think its just a sad cowboy fan logging onto a Redskins board to try to get people riled up by talking smack.

I guess it worked, lol, I'm riled up. Sorta

skins75 made my eyebals 'bout pop out of my head when he wrote:I have to agree that Gambits post although biased is not in an offensive nature. He unlike Smizzy knows how to bash us without making it so obvious.

And now, I have to disagree with a brother. Gambit resorts to name calling and chest-thumping when challenged. He's a Dallas fan, so it smarts when he does so. Smizzy ? He's got an itchy trigger-finger, to be sure, but he generally doesn't mess with you until you mess with the Jets. Plus, he's AFC East, which really doesn't have any impact on us unless it's the one time every three/fours years we meet during the regular season. His vitriol and ranting, (again, usually retaliatory) should be taken with a grain of salt.
Gambit, on the other hand...
First, I'm on record as a non-proponent of "banning". It's pedantic and foolish. He's here, he's registered and he makes you feel what it is to be a Redskins fan. Your true colors come out when you go back and forth with Gambit, as do his. Here's my breakdown on this young "affluent", as he like to call himself.
1.) He's pretty smart. It doesn't come across in his spelling, but I think that's more a result of overly enthusiastic responses than any lack of education. In other words, he types too fast for his skill level.
2.) He out-thinks himself, sometimes. His posts are titled with some self-deprecation, but the body of the post usually breaks down into how badly he thinks the Redskins suck. SO, he draws you in, making newbies (and even some of the more experienced posters here) angry and wanting to show their mettle.
3.) He really believes that he is an accurate judge of talent, but hasn't shown that in his posts. He'll use Bowen as an example. An experienced judge of talent would take into consideration not only a player's first year in a discombobulated system. He'd need to go back to the Green Bay
years to get a feel for that particular player in a system he knew, and factor that in. If Bowen were a Cowboy...
(I'll leave that hanging. You can fill in the blanks for yourself.)
4.) He strives to be an "agent". He collects memorabilia and autographs, and probably propositions the players doing the signing for him. Maybe he even has himself a little business card. "Call me, Gambit187, when you get tired of your current agent."
I'm sure the player has the same reaction I have when I read his posts. He'll chuckle and say, "Oh Waiter ? CHECK, please !"

My original post was not meant to call Smizzy out. I enjoy all of the members here and think every one is entitled to his/her opinion. Nothing more. I disagree that Gambit is as confrontational as Smizzy can be. But thats my opinion. I dont recall Gambit having any where near the amount of arguments that Smizzy has had with the members here (including BH). This in no way is a shot on his character for I dont know him. Anyway I think Smizzy and Gambit add just as much to this board as anyone and welcome a good old fashioned debate every now and again.

Yes, but...wouldn't you say a "good old-fashioned debate" would have at least two informed participants ? If so, you aren't getting that with Gambit. You're getting a man who excels in nothing more than cage-rattling.
Welcome whomever you choose, my man. At least with Smizzy, the arrows hit the target but don't penetrate due to the fact that he isn't in our division. With Gambit, they come off the bow weakly and fall well short. It's all about the archer, brother.

Question for TC West

Post by skins75 »

TC West - Congrats on the 1000th post man. You truly are one on the more enjoyable members here.

I have question for you that is totally not related to football (sorry BH for not putting this in another forum) and its regarding the fact that you live in OC, NJ. Are the Tuttels (not sure of the spelling) from OCC treated like royalty around your parts due to the sucess of American Chopper? I was just curious. I ran into them down in Key West and people were just swarming them.
