On the first scrimmage play of Joe Gibbs' first Washington Redskins minicamp in a dozen years, assistant coach for defense Gregg Williams pulled a surprise and blitzed all 11 players.[/color]

I love this move on his part. If our offense plays agains a good Defence in practice maybee our o-line will improve. They are pretty strong but with seeing new looks and all that Greg Williams has up his sleve. I dont know, im just stoked.

According to reports, Williams tipped off Coach Gibbs right before the play.

But don't you just love the 'balls' of the move??? Isn't it refreshing to see the new Redskins being aggressive??

It's really nice to see that we have professionals in camp this year, instead of the college coordinators that have run the team for the last two years....

And to think, in Spurriers first year he had to tell the Offense what the D was bringing just to be able to get off some plays in practice.

It sure will be nice to have some good ol' ball coaches again. :lol:

Well, thats what they need. A coach thats excited and motavated. And for the players to feel that he is going to work just as hard as they will.

I liked the player comments about how this was soooo much more professional. Fun yes, but they knew they were there to work.

It's a new era and I love the new (old) attitude. :lol:

The comments that I've recently read about Spurrier bouncing balls off the ground during special teams drills have just infuriated me. While he was a coach, I was a Spurrier supporter--I was even a little sad (at first) to see him go, thinking that maybe one more year would get the Skins going.

But now I've been hearing those reports of 7 hour days and very relaxed practices, and I realize why we should all be thanking our lucky stars to have any coach besides Spurrier. This isn't college, and raw talent can't win 11 games a season.

Can't wait to see that Denver HOF game. . .

The one thing that I guess none of us really thought about was the level of talent that Spurrier had at Florida - some people would go to Gainesville to play just cause it was close to the beach, cause it was Florida, because of the SEC, the girls, the sun... certain teams have advantages, and Spurrier had better talent. But in the greater scheme of things, when he came here and the talent level was fairly even, we saw what his schemes and his level of commitment brought us. Failure. Plain and Simple.

Now we have one of the kings of commitment. And it is like bringing in fresh air to a very stale house through open windows
