The big picture I am trying to get across to you guys is why pay such a high price for a guy that would have been released anyway and has said once he did get released he would have came to the Skins.

Now i could see giving up what you guys gave up for a Couch or Garcia.

This makes no sense, Garcia is 34 too

My take:

QB: Eagles, Skins, Giants, Cowgirls
McNabb is the best QB in the group, with Brunell the runner up. Carrie Collins is a joke.

RB: Skins, Cowgirls, Eagles, Giants
Portis is by far the best RB in the NFC East. Tiki fumbles like 3x a game, so the Giants are automatically last. He was overrated at UVA, and the trend continues in the NFL. The Cowgirls will take a stud in the draft.

WR: Giants, Skins, Cowgirls, Eagles
TO has regressed a bit the last few years, and Im not sold on the McNabb - TO connection. Giants WRs are adept at stretching the field and can make a ton of plays.

TE: Giants, Eagles, Cowgirls, Skins
We are pretty thin here.

OL: Eagles, Cowboys, Skins, Giants
I see this one as pretty close, with the exception of the Giants, who are an absolute mess.

redskins56 wrote:. SAYING THAT THE GIANTS ARE IN BETTER SHAPE THAN THE REDSKINS IS THE STUPIDEST THING I'VE HEARD THIS OFFSEASON. Kerry Collins is a good QB, nothing more, and his knee got torn apart late last season by Bruce Smith. Their backup is ABC'S new bachellor Jessie Palmer, who has fumbled away every opportunity he has gotten. We have two players whom would start for at least 10-15 teams right now, and aside from McNabb every other team in our divison would trade anyone they have for Pat Ramsey, maybe even Brunell. I stopped looking at it after that, so I won't comment on the other positions.

Unless Gibbs is installing some sort of mystical, magical two QB set, the "depth" at QB isn't nearly as important as a quality starter. Unless of course Washington plans on employing the "OLE" line technique again this season.

When grading positions, especially QB, I weighed in 90% on the starter who will actually see the field and 10% on whoever's holding the clipboard.

Did you guys pick up another QB? Because even the much-maligned Carter has better numbers than Ramsey and that ain't saying much.

Well if Ramsey was a much better QB he would not have gotten hit so much and would have had the presence to know he was about to get popped and been able to move and possible make something happen. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO SCRAMBLE

Why do Cowboy fans insist on saying that Carter is as good as Ramsey? Do you really believe that?

Dallas sportswriters were all over the idea of trading for Ramsey when it was thought he might be available, and Parcells has just traded for another quarterback of the future. Would you really rather have Carter than Ramsey?

the ONLY reason the cowboys one last season was because of their defense...they won INSPITE of quincy carter, not because of him. you guys would trade carter AND henson for ramsey but guess what?? he's not available! HATIN IT!!

When it comes to RB, I think you guys are all forgetting about Brian Westbrook! That guy is a gamebreaker. Phi should be ranked very closely behind the Skins. (But still in 2nd, Naturally  )

Brian Westbrook should be ranked very close to Clinton Portis?

I saw Brian Westbrook at Villanova when he played the Blue Hens. The guy is a stud...but I don't think he's near the level of Portis. He's good...but he's not "all that and a bag o' chips."

Does he have the speed and the what I call "squirtability" that Portis does? I watched the film work from the Denver site and I was really impressed at how small a hole he needed to squirt through into the open...

Not to mention changing directions better than a water spider... there is one play on the goal line that the original hole plugged and he absolutely switched directions almost too fast to see and popped in for a TD. He makes it less necessary to have a bruiser to ram it in to the end zone.

Westbrook is good, but I don't think on the same level.

Couldn't the same argument be made, only more effectively, regarding Portis?
