Well Redskins Nation, as you scour the newlines today, in search of that tidbit of Redskin knowledge that you didn’t have yesterday, you’re sure to come across the new depth chart released yesterday.
Many fans, including myself, like to take a look at what’s at camp, and make predictions as to what the final 53-man roster will look like. Obviously an official release helps drastically in hammering out that list.
The Redskins third round draft pick Leonard Hankerson had another solid practice today, in his bid to make Washington’s 2011 roster. The big receiver from the ‘U’ has impressed early in camp, and has wowed the crowds with a couple of circus catches.
With the Washington Redskins first open training camp practice on Saturday, fans were finally able to get their first look at the 2011 Redskins. As bleeders of burgundy and gold poured over lists and tweets to try and figure out who that guy was wearing number XX, the players were out on the field working hard.
When I heard that Albert Haynesworth had failed his physical with the New England Patriots – I wasn’t the least bit surprised. Were you?

Phillip Daniels is upset with Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post’s DCSportsBog.
The very recently released defensive lineman obviously had to face a barrage of questions over the last 24 hours, and he’s not to pleased about the interpretations of his comments, made by Steinberg. This blog is just an FYI and a teaser that a long, long time friend of THN is making his way back to the Redskins blogosphere. In fact, he’s been gone long enough for us to say, that he and I were blogging about the Redskins before there were blogs.
Today the Redskins released veteran defensive lineman Phillip Daniels.
That sucks.
I don’t want to have an intellectual conversation about how the team is doing this, or the team is doing that – I will say only that I am very happy with the moves that the organization has made in the last few days.
Most of them.
The first day of ‘free agency’ has been relatively quiet for the Redskins, but they made their first splash this afternoon re-signing Santana Moss. The 3-year deal is reportedly worth$15 Million, with a $5 Million bonus, and $6 Million in guaranteed money.
For Redskins fans that are interested in going to training camp, the schedule was released today. There are eleven practices that are open to the public, and all of them are at 8:30am. Here is the schedule:
With the NFL lockout ending yesterday, football fans everywhere celebrated and flocked to Message Boards, Blogs, Facebook and Twitter to express their feelings on the situation. Information and misinformation was flying fast and furious. You had to have your head on a swivel, and you had to be very careful about determining what was truly news, as opposed to just hype or conjecture.
NFL teams were granted permission to start football operations, and despite the fact that they can’t sign anyone until Friday, teams are allowed to make hand shake deals with this year’s crop of Undrafted Free Agents. Rumors swirled all night on the world wide web, and it appears as though at least three college players agreed in principle to Redskin contracts. Keep in mind that none of the transactions can be completed until the end of the week, so players can change their minds.
