For Washington Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz, Sunday will be a homecoming of sorts. He will face the Philadelphia Eagles for the very first time. The Eagles drafted him with the second overall pick in 2016.

It’s a big game for Washington. It might feel like an even bigger game to Wentz.

After all, the Eagles are now quarterbacked by Jalen Hurts – the man who bumped Wentz from his starting position in 2020. Not only that, Hurts is having a blinder of a start to the season.

The Washington Commanders just couldn’t put it together on Sunday. They suffered a demoralizing 36-27 loss to the Detroit Lions.  In doing so, they dropped to 1-1 on the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles on the other hand, are coming off a strong 24-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Jalen Hurts threw one touchdown pass, and ran for two more touchdowns. The Beagles are now 2-0 in 2022.

Today’s wallpapers are to acknowledge three guys that really put it together against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. That allowed the Commanders to come away with a 28-22 victory, and a 1-0 record.

Carson Wentz threw four touchdowns. No Washington quarterback has ever done that in their debut.

Jahan Dotson pulled down two touchdowns. No Washington receiver has ever done that in their debut.

Terry McLaurin? Well he was just doing Terry McLaurin things when he snatched a 49-yard touchdown. He only caught two balls but the 49-yarder was the game’s longest play.

Mathis Suffers Torn MCL, Out for Season

Despite a hard-fought win by the Commanders on Sunday, it wasn’t all sunshine. Rookie defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis suffered what appears to be a torn MCL . He will require season-ending surgery and was put on the injury reserve list. Mathis was chosen 47th overall by Washington in the 2022 NFL Draft. Mathis was a defensive star at Alabama. … Read more

First Look: Washington Vs Detroit – Head To Head, Odds And More

Washington played their very first game as the Commanders on Sunday – and won. They beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-22 on the strength of four Carson Wentz touchdown passes in Week 1 of the 2022 season.

Washington will now face the Detroit Lions – who lost 38-35 to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Lions scored 14 points in the 4th quarter but fell short of completing the comeback. They will be out for their first win of the season in their home opener at Ford Field.

Washington have struggled with the Lions “lately”.

Commanders Versus Jaguars: Positives And Negatives In 28-22 Victory

The Washington Commanders came out firing against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and rode a hot start to a 28-22 opening day victory. Washington scored on their first two possessions of the home game for the first time since 1991. That’s not a typo, they haven’t done it since George Herbert Walker Bush was President.

They also didn’t score on an opening drive last year, until Week 13.

The Commanders may not have been perfect, but they gave the Fed Ex crowd plenty to cheer about, and did enough to come away with the win.
