Wallpaper Wednesday: Washington’s Opponents In 2022

The 2021 season came to a close last weekend. Not even a victory over the division rival New York Giants provided much in the way of happiness or validation. A 7-10 record means another season without playoffs. Sigh.

Alas, we soldier on. And on.

The close of the regular season also means that the NFL has all the information it needs to begin figuring out the next season’s schedule. While the schedule won’t be announced until early May, Washington’s opponents were announced yesterday.

It seemed appropriate to close out the 2021 wallpapers with something satirical or spoofish… to at least attempt to frame another losing season with some humor.

Wallpaper Wednesday: Vintage Joe Jacoby Mobile Wallpaper

After a season ending loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, it seemed like a good time to run a vintage wallpaper. Perhaps if we celebrate a player of yesteryear, it will take away some of the sting of the current year.

Wallpaper Wednesday: Antonio Gibson Mobile Version

Antonio Gibson ran for 64 yards in the win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. On 24 carries. That’s tough sledding. His two touchdowns were an integral part of Washington’s victory.

The second year receiver-turned-running-back had a solid game. Statistics don’t tell you everything. His first touchdown run was indicative of his effort levels. He made a couple of great blocks in passing situations as well. Something he is only just learning, being new to the position.

Wallpaper Wednesday: Commemorative Sean Taylor Jersey Retirement

Washington retired Sean Taylor’s jersey number 21 this past weekend. He is just the third player in Washington history to receive the honor.

Much ado has been made about the lack of notice to fans. Rightfully so, Sean deserved better.

So why not at least honor him with a wallpaper?

It would have been great to put out the wallpaper last week, but the team hadn’t announced the event at that time. 🙁
