Numbers don’t always tell the story, especially in the preseason; but they can still be fun to look at. Here are some of the more telling numbers from the Redskins 16-3 thrashing of the Indianapolis Colts on Friday night:

When the Redskins line up against the Indianapolis Colts tonight at Lucas Oil Stadium, there will be a few guys that not only want to make an impression, but need to make an impression. With just a few short weeks left before the regular season, coaches are going to have their fingers on the eject button, and will start jettisoning players after every game. So who is on the bubble, and needs to play well to land on the Redskins 53 man roster?
RB Davis Skips Practice
If you haven’t already heard, Redskins roster hopeful James Davis was a no-show at practice today, and his whereabouts are unknown. Davis fought his way on to the Redskins active roster in 2010, and was going to have to do the same again in 2011. Perhaps Davis thought he was fighting a losing battle with two rookie running backs, Roy Helu and Evan Royster, as well as recently imported Tim Hightower all coming in to vie for time in the backfield.
Recapping Day 3 of Redskins Free Agency
The Redskins made their biggest move of the day early Thursday morning by shipping disgruntled defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to the New England Patriots in exchange for a 2013 5th round draft pick. This ends a dark chapter because Haynesworth is widely viewed as arguably the biggest free agent bust in franchise history, which should say something. Ironically, Haynesworth heads to another team with a 3-4 defense and a coach regarded as even stricter than Mike Shanahan in Bill Belichick.

Here’s the Washington Redskins 2011 haul of draft picks. The Redskin war room was extremely busy completing 3 trades in the second round alone. In the end, Washington ended up with twelve selections:
