Washington is coming off of a tremendous victory over the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.
There weren’t a lot of people giving the Commanders much of a chance of beating the 8-0 Eagles leading into the Monday Night Football game. That’s why they play the games. Any Given Sunday. Washington stunned Philadelphia and their fans with a 32-21 victory and handed them their first loss of the season.
Eagles fans and pundits were quick to complain. And cry.
“The refs gave them the game.”
Boo hoo hoo.
The winning streak is over. Washington blew a fourth quarter 10-point lead on Sunday, and fell to the Minnesota Vikings 20-17 in a heartbreaker. Minnesota’s Greg Joseph kicked a go-ahead 28-yard field goal with just 12 seconds left to go. The win put Minnesota at 7-1 for the season, while the Commanders fell to 4-5. … Read more
The Week 9 game between the Washington Commanders and Minnesota Vikings will be the “black out” game. Not only have the field graphics been converted to black, but all fans have been encouraged to wear black. It will also bring former Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins back to Fed Ex Field. You Like That?
Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings are red hot at 6-1 and sit alone atop the NFC North division. He has thrown for multiple touchdowns the last two weeks, and after a trade deadline deal, will have a new weapon at his disposal in tight end T.J. Hockenson.
It was a battle of formerly backup quarterbacks. Sam Ehlinger stepped in for an injured Matt Ryan, and Taylor Heinicke made his second straight start for the Washington Commanders. Neither one of them looked like they’d be breaking any passing records any time soon, but in the end, Heinicke earned another pair of Nikes and came away with a 17-16 victory.
The Commanders quarterback ultimately put up decent numbers, going 23 of 31 for 279 yards with an interception and two touchdowns – one in the air, one on the ground. But in a tight match-up, it was Heinicke’s last two plays that made all the difference.
Taylor Heinicke might not have the most NFL-est arm in the league, but Taylor Heinicke certainly has one of the most NFL-est attitudes in the game. With Carson Wentz out for a minimum of four games, Washington’s backup quarterback took to the field on Sunday to try and win a football game. And did.
In true Washington form, fans were split down the middle as to wether or not they should throw any praise in Heinicke’s direction. The bottom line is that the Washington Commanders beat a Green Bay Packers team that almost nobody expected them to beat. Especially with a backup quarterback at the helm.
It’s Week 5 of the 2022 NFL season. The Commanders will face the Tennessee Titans.
Washington is coming off their third loss in a row. This one to the Dallas Cowboys.
So who’s available and who’s not?
Here is a list of both teams’ inactives:
The Commanders took on division rival Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, and came up short. Really short. The scoreline of 25-10 for Dallas was if anything, flattering to Washington. The defense put up a decent fight at times, but the offense was once again, anaemic. They have managed just 18 points in the last two contests. … Read more
The Washington Commanders weren’t just bad on Sunday, they were downright awful. In fact, break out the Thesaurus and look for even more colorful words that denote such a performance – dreadful, cataclysmic, abysmal, disastrous, horrendous, horrific. You get the picture. They all fit.
The Commanders took on division rival Philadelphia Eagles and just flat out mailed it in – pretty much across the board. Washington was lucky to get away with the 24-8 loss. It could have been considerably worse. Especially considering the Eagles were up 24-0 at half time.
To be frank, the Commanders were so bad that it was tough to find a single player to say positive things about.
It’s Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season. The Commanders will square off against the Philadelphia Eagles at FedEx Field.
Washington is coming off a tough 36-27 loss to the Detroit Lions. The Philadelphia Eagles outclassed the Minnesota Vikings 24-7 and moved to 2-0.
