It Was Over When:
DeSean Jackson ran the game’s fourth play from scrimmage in for a touchdown. Could a game really be over that early? It seemed to be – the Redskins never really did get all the way back. The game was just two minutes old and yet the wind had been completely sucked from the Redskins’ (and their fans) sails.

News and Notes: Saturday, October 24
Why don’t we start with the good news? Levi Jones is doing well enough that he may be activated against Philadelphia.
Samuels Update
As news of Chris Samuels retirement rapidly spread across the internet yesterday, Redskin fans began their outpouring of gratitude for a decade of great service. It was a bit premature.
So Long Chris?
Jason Reid at the Washington Post WAS reporting that Chris Samuels was officially retiring; but now the blog has been updated to say that, “A source close to Samuels said he will not make a final decision on retirement until December or January.”
After suffering a neck inury two weeks ago, many have speculated, myself included, that the injury could bring about the end of his career – the end of an era really.
News and Notes: Zorn / Cerrato / Largent / Thomas
While it has become almost painful to watch the Redskins fumble through each and every week, it’s our job at THN to keep bringing you the news – no matter how ’embarrassing’ some of it might be.
Yesterday, Vinny Cerrato publicly endorsed coach Jim Zorn’s job stability.
Zorn Remains Dignified
As Redskin fans spend the week looking for a nice deep hole to stick their head in and hide, Jim Zorn suffered the dubious distinction of having to hold a Monday Press Conference and explain the state of the team to the media. Somehow, he did so with grace and dignity.
Leftovers – Week 7
Here are this week’s leftovers from THN Weekly with Andre Carter.
THN: Haynesworth apparently left to go to the locker room with about 25 seconds left in the game but he was also the one guy to make his voice heard and try to motivate guys and get them to step their game up after the game. Is that true? If so, why did he leave so early and what did he say?
Hognostications Week 7
Congratulations goes out to, yours truly, Hoss and jeremyroyce for having a hognostication score of 10-4 for week 6. Rounding out the top 6 are Mursilis, Countertrey, TeeterSalad and Deadskins. There were a few interior rank changes this week and there are still many weeks left. This is anyone’s to win.
Jones-ing For Some O-Line Help
While I’m sure what I wrote had nothing to do with it, last week I blogged that I couldn’t believe that the Redskins hadn’t brought in an offensive lineman or two; at least give them a look, and see if they could try and improve the team’s anemic line play.
