Week Seven could be a make-or-break week for the Washington Redskins’ 2017 Playoff aspirations. Every game is important in a 16-game season – every divisional game even more so. When you’re facing the only team ahead of you in the divisional race, and losing gives them both wins this season and the first tie breaker, it’s pretty safe to say that the Redskins hopes for winning the NFC East this year could very well come down to the result of this early week 7 game. Beating the Eagles won’t guarantee them success, but losing to them could drastically affect the Redskins betting odds of getting to the playoffs via a divisional first place.

That’s no small feat given that the game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field, and the Redskins secondary could potentially have more holes than swiss cheese.

Redskins Facing Tough Test this Week Against Rams

The Washington Redskins kicked off the 2017 season with a gut-wrenching loss to their division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. The team now has to put their disappointing season opening loss to the Eagles behind them, and turn their attention to their week two opponents, the Los Angeles Rams.

Since they were picked by many experts to finish fourth in the NFC East, the Washington Redskins season winning predictions are still on track.

The Rams are coming off a season opening win against the Indianapolis Colts. Sean McVay, the Redskins 2016 offensive coordinator, gets his first chance to go up against his former team as the head coach of the Rams. The game between the two teams is scheduled to start at 4:25 PM. ET.

McVay, who turned 31 in January, is the youngest head coach in NFL history. At the same 31-years-old, Washington coach Jay Gruden was coaching in the Arena League as the head coach of the Orlando Predators.

Redskins Nation Unimpressed With Redskins’ Effort Against the Eagles

It only took one game, but one thing was quite certain on the social network airwaves on Sunday, Redskins fans were downtrodden. While 1/16th of a season does not a season make, it was apparent that the fan base saw next-to-nothing that would inspire even a glimmer of hope in Washington’s 30-17 loss to the Eagles.

It started bad. It finished bad. What happened in between was mediocre at best. The defense played better than the offense, but the Vienna Boys Choir might have put in a better offensive showing, so that isn’t saying much. And when the dust settled after the game, it was clear that this fan base is beat up. Tired of losing. Tired of fielding an embarrassing product. Tired of turning their head when they answer, “I’m a Redskins fan.” Tired of spending money on a product that doesn’t ever seem to do anything but go in big, bad circles. And it didn’t take sixteen games, it took one.

Redskins Beat Eagles And Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

Carson Wentz drove the Philadelphia Eagles all the way down to the 14-yard line in the game’s dying moments, before Ryan Kerrigan’s eleventh sack of the season, and arguably the most timely, ended their drive, and gave the Washington Redskins a 27-22 victory. Washington ended their two game losing streak, and kept pace with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card playoff hunt. Check all the NFL odds and scores.

Kirk Cousins had a rather pedestrian day with just 234 passing yards, but he threw two touchdown passes, including an 80-yard bomb to former Eagle DeSean Jackson. That gave Washington a 14-13 lead in the third quarter. He then hooked up with Pierre Garcon for another touchdown, and a 21-13 lead.

The joy was short lived though, as Cousins would then throw an interception to Leodis McKelvin, and he would return it 29 yards to the Redskins end zone for an Eagles score, and gave them some momentum. But at 21-19, the Eagles went for two and failed to convert when a pass to Jordan Matthews was batted down.
