Much discussion about General Managers on Redskins fan boards these days… it’s pretty much a (note: I said “a” not “the”) common denominator.

It’s official. The National Sports Media’s “Jim Zorn Getting’ Fired” Vigil has officially begun. When a Redskins1 sighting in Denver began a feeding frenzy of undercover press stakeouts outside the home of Mike Shanahan, the drooling over the still conscious body of the Redskins coach moved into high gear.

I’m sorry, Mr. Cassell. Did I violate your personal space?
It made no difference, ultimately, in the outcome of the game, but that alleged “roughing the passer” call on Haynesworth is just further evidence that the effort by the NFL to protect a single group of players is completely out of control. The NFL has made the determination that an all out effort to keep Quarterbacks from being touched has greater value than protecting the integrity of the game.
Well we are only one day past a very memorable day for Redskin fans, but I can’t help but look back and have a couple of issues…
In what most Redskin fans would classify as an early Christmas present, Vinny Cerrato resigned as the Washington Redskins executive vice president of football operations on Thursday. It is the end of an era – an unsuccessful, often painful era.

“Linus! You’ve got to lose the blanket! Oh yeah!”
There is one thing that the Redskins have plenty of… and that is retired great running backs who have an opinion. Riggins has joined the pig pile, along with B. Mitch. There seems to be a bit of a competition to see who can contribute the wittiest commentary. That would definitely have to be Riggo… B. Mitch seems to have the bigger bite, though.
There is a growing sense of dread in Redskins Nation.
No… it has nothing to do with the growing realization that this season needs to be spoken of in the past tense.
While painful, it is not about the likely loss of one of the best LT’s to the potential of a spinal injury.
Chris Cooley will be fine… so, no, not that either.
John Riggins has been at it for weeks with some serious venom cast in the direction of the Washington Redskins organization. Though sometimes radical, the brash Redskins legend often says a few things that ring true for many Redskin fans. But did his latest rant cross a boundary? Check out Dan Steinberg’s recap at D.C. Sports Bog, if you haven’t already seen or heard Riggins latest comments.
There aren’t many Redskin fans that aren’t familiar with John Tayman, aka Bang, and his cartoons. Unfortunately for Redskin fans, John spreads his particular brand of cartoon ‘love’ around to all NFL teams now, but his latest episode is definitely a must-see for Redskin fans.
