Antonio Gibson To Covid List With WFT’s Season in The Balance

The Washington Football Team face the Philadelphia Eagles at Fed Ex Field on Sunday, in a must-win game. On Friday, Washington potentially lost one of the most important cogs in their offensive wheel. They had to place running back Antonio Gibson on the reserve / Covid-19 list.

To make matters worse, they had to add offensive lineman Ereck Flowers to the Covid list as well. That’s a significant hit to a running game that was likely going to see a lot of work unless Washington fell behind early.

Washington head to Philadelphia with Garrett Gilbert and Jordan Ta’amu on their roster, two quarterbacks that were only added late this week.

It has been a chaotic week for bookmakers. A rash of Covid-19 positives amongst NFL players and coaches, forced the league to postpone three games – including the Washington versus Philadelphia game. Obviously these same injuries can also have a drastic outcome on the effect of games, and therefore, drastically effect a game’s odds.

The Football Team now has twenty-three Covid cases, including both of their quarterbacks. That earned them a two-day postponement until Tuesday. The two-day postponement is designed to allow time for the team’s players to produce negative tests ahead of their Week 15 matchup.

It’s become almost comical at this juncture for Washington. At what point will the league consider re-scheduling the game? Obviously that’s a difficult proposition with so little time left in the regular season.

Here are the 18 players on the list:
