The premier of the Brian Mitchell ‘Tailgate’ show aired tonight and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure I have a biased opinion because THN was included in the show, but the format and the overall feel has a tangible quality that for me as a fan, was very different; moreover, it was extremely entertaining.
The lack of off-season training activities were said to be a reason for teams to worry about Training Camp injuries. We all know that Rex Grossman has been to the Super Bowl, and conventional wisdom says he went on the backs of his defense. We consider it the same as the 2003 Ravens who won the Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer who only started the last half of the season.
Clearly, Baltimore won the Super Bowl in spite of their quarterbacks that year.
Maybe we judge Grossman too harshly. The 2006 Bears were 2nd in the league in scoring that year putting up 427 points. I’m not sure we can say that Chicago made it on defense alone like Baltimore did.
Coach Shanahan took his time naming the starting Quarterback, and we did the same getting out the new THN Redskins 2011 Schedule Wallpaper, but the wait is over. In lieu of Devin Thomas’ comments about Washington over the last week or so, I thought it might be interesting to compare him to other players in the annuls of “Deadskins” receiving history. If you don’t get the Deadskins reference, a lot of the angst towards Devin Thomas, is because his new pet nickname for the team that wasted a second round draft pick and 5 million bucks on him is, that’s right, the Deadskins.
