Washington Football Team Dropped By A Hungrier Dallas Squad

While the Washington Football Team rallied late to make a game of it, they were beaten fairly soundly by the Dallas Cowboys for most of their 27-20 loss on Sunday. Dallas rode a strong 18-point first quarter lead for most of the game. The win moved Dallas into a commanding lead in the NFC East at 9-4, while the WFT fell to 6-7 and in a tie with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite an absolute donut in the first half, and being down 24-0, Washington still had a chance to win the game at the end. The Football Team posted 12 fourth quarter points to get the score back to 27-20, and within a score. They even had a drive to potentially tie the game at 27-27 with just over three minutes to go.

WFT Vs Dallas – How To Watch, Head-To-Head, Odds, And More

The Washington Football Team head in to their Week 14 match-up with the Dallas Cowboys on a roll. The WFT have won their last four games, including last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite that good run, Washington (6-6) will need to take down the division rival Cowboys (8-4) – the current division leaders – if they want to keep pace.

This is a huge game for both teams.

Flashback Friday: Lavar Arrington Takes Out Troy Aikman

It was 21 years ago today – December 10th, 2000 – that Lavar Arrington put a hit on Troy Aikman that would prove to be Troy’s last.

This blog isn’t to glorify an injury. Not at all. It was just a significant moment in the Washington | Dallas rivalry.

Aikman was running out of bounds and throwing the ball away on the play, but Lavar finished the hit as he should. There was nothing dirty or malicious about it. It was just a strong football play.

But if you want to trigger a Cowboys fan and see them turn salty, just mention this play.

It’s #WallpaperWednesday, and today we recognize and appreciate DeAndre Carter. Carter signed with the Washington Football Team this past offseason mostly as a kick returner.

Carter has exceeded most people’s expectations. He been as advertised as a kick returner and then some, having already taken a kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown.

But it’s his work at wide receiver that has been somewhat unexpected. In his fourth season in the league, Carter scored his first receiving touchdown. And his second. And his third.

Loser Papers: 2021 Edition VI – WFT Upends The Raiders

Welcome to the fourth straight week of Loser Papers! What a fantastic roll the Washington Football Team have been on since their Bye Week. All looked pretty much lost in the 2021 season at that point. Washington were 2-6, and had a tough slate of games ahead of them. Then boom! Four wins in a row.

This week, the game came down to a final second kick, by a brand new kicker. Does it get any more nail-biting than that? Brian Johnson kicked a 48-yard field goal with just 42 seconds left in the game with the Las Vegas Raiders, to steal the victory at Allegiant Field.

The loss dropped the Raiders to the same 6-6 record as Washington, but put them on the outside of the AFC playoff hunt to start Week 14. Conversely, Washington moved up into the NFC’s 6th seed position, by virtue of their win.

Money kick. That’s what Brian Johnson’s first ever field goal for the Washington Football Team was. With less than a minute to play, the rookie kicker was trotted out for a shot at glory. And he came through in the clutch.

With Washington down by a point to the Las Vegas Raiders, Johnson pounded his 48-yard kick through the uprights, to give Washington a 17-15 lead with just 42 seconds to go.

Loser Papers: 2021 Edition V – WFT Over Seattle

The Washington Football Team won their third straight game to move to 5-6, and into the NFC Wild Card picture. Washington’s narrow 17-15 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night came right down to the wire.

Seattle had the opportunity to tie the game in the waning moments, but Kendall Fuller intercepted the two-point conversion that could have evened the score.

Washington’s cause was further aided by a penalty on the following kickoff, that negated a successful Seattle onside kick.

Third Straight Win Puts Washington Back In Playoff Mix

The Washington Football Team are back in the playoff hunt after their third consecutive victory. Washington beat the Seattle Seahawks 17-15 in this week’s Monday Night Football game. In doing so, they moved to 5-6, and into the seventh and final NFC Wild Card Playoff position.

It took a late intercepted two-point conversion from Kendall Fuller and an overturned onside kick to finally get the win. But Washington did it mostly by keeping Russell Wilson off the field.
