Washington has already had a strong offseason as far as free agency goes. They have holes to fill in the draft though. Their most glaring need is at linebacker. Kevin Pierre-Louis was lost to free agency, Thomas Davis. Sr. retired and Shaun Dion Hamilton was waived. That leaves just Jon Bostic and Cole Holcomb as starters on the depth chart. Someone like Notre Dame’s Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is an excellent fit, if he falls to Washington. Is he splashy enough for the owner though?
While Ryan Fitzpatrick was brought in at quarterback, will he be long term answer? No. Tyler Heinicke and Kyle Allen were both effective in limited action, and would seem good depth at the position. It’s a bumper crop of Quarterbacks in 2021 though. It’s easy to see scenarios where quarterbacks fall, and Washington takes the plunge. Especially with Dan Snyder in the War Room.
One thing is for sure – last year’s first round selection will be impossible to beat. Chase Young might be the best draft pick, the Washington Football team has ever had. He took home the Rookie Defensive Player of the Year Award and will only get better.
