Week 7: Washington Tweaks Practice Squad With Four Moves

Washington made a couple of roster moves today, all practice squad related. The team announced this afternoon that they had added kicker Chris Blewitt and linebacker De’Jon Harris.

Blewitt was signed to the practice squad earlier in the month, but released just over a week later. He will have a tryout this week with two other kickers – Sam Sloman and Lirim Hajrullahu.

Washington also signed free agent linebacker De’Jon Harris. The 6’3″ Arkansas product, was signed by the New England patriots after going undrafted last year. The Green Bay Packers signed him to their practice squad when he was cut by the Patriots on cut-down day. He re-signed with the Packers at the close of the 2020 season, but was released during their final 2021 cuts.

To make room for the additions, Washington released wide receiver Kelvin Harmon, and safety Cole Luke.

Harmon spent the 2020 season on Washington’s non-football injury list, after tearing his ACL training. He was released in August, but signed to the team’s practice squad again a few weeks ago.

Luke’s stay was brief. He had only been re-signed to the practice squad last week.
