In this final 2010 edition of Leftovers, Andre Carter talks about his New Year’s resolution, switching to a three-point stance, players that stood out to him this year, and what memory stands out the most to him looking back on his career as a Redskin.

THN: What was your New Year’s resolution for 2011?

AC: Read more books. I would like to read two books a month if possible.

THN: How would you sum up this season? What expectations were met and what needs to be attained next year?

AC: The season was an emotional roller coaster. We did see a few players shine: Ryan Torain, Perry Riley, and Trent Williams. These players are definitely the future.

THN: Just how much did the coaches adjust to you playing defensive end in the middle of the season? Did they cater to you more than you expected and were you surprised when they suggested you moving back to a three-point stance?

AC: The three point stance was my idea. I felt I had to go back to the basics in order to become a factor. Of course that was in passing situations. I was thankful that the coaches opened up to my opinion.

THN: If this was in fact your last game, what will be your lasting memory of your time in D.C.? What stuck with you the most from your time here?

AC: My lasting memory was the 2007 season; A bunch of men coming together for a common cause. A lost brother due to an unfortunate circumstance who was dear to us, yet we united and made that playoff run. What stuck out the most was beating the Cowboys by 21 points on our home turf.
