Heinicke Outduels Newton In Important Washington Win

The Washington Football Team just won it’s second tough football game in a row. This week’s victory came on the road against a Carolina Panthers team that was up for the battle, as they welcomed Cam Newton back to their franchise. Fortunately for Washington, Taylor Heinicke was better on the day and secured a tough 27-21 victory at Bank Of America Stadium.

Heinicke threw three touchdown passes against the league’s toughest pass defense, to lead the way for Washington. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 206 yards, and ran for another 29 yards on six carries. The 28-year old made some spectacular plays. Not the least of which, was a fourth down scramble where he threw up a prayer that got answered, and kept a WFT drive alive.

Week 11: Washington Vs Carolina – How To Watch And Listen

Two teams coming off big wins, will square off against each other in Charlotte on Sunday. The Washington Football Team are fresh off beating the defending Super Bowl Champs last weekend. Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers beat the Arizona Cardinals who had the best record in football.

Carolina will be trying newly supplanted quarterback Cam Newton at starter. He returned to Carolina last week, and scored twice on his first two touches.

Can he learn the offense quickly enough to be an effective starter this week?

The WFT will again go with Taylor Heinicke, who had his best game in over a month against Tampa Bay.

Washington would also be wise to keep an eye on the hot hand of Christian McCaffrey – who had over 160 yards rushing and receiving against the Cardinals.

Pissed Off Tom Brady Press Conference Transcript

The amount of headline attention garnered by Tom Brady’s post-game press conference yesterday is surprising. It was even picked up by TMZ, whose sports interests generally revolve around scandals and untimely deaths.

Would it be as news worthy if it wasn’t Tom Brady?

Probably not.

It seems to have grabbed as much or more attention than the game between Washington and Tampa Bay itself. That’s a bit of a shame when a bottom five team just beat the defending Super Bowl Champs.

Loser Papers: 2021 Edition III – WFT Over Tampa Bay Bucs

It’s been a while since there has been an edition of Loser Papers here at THN. It’s a long story as to why – we were offline for a minute.

We’ve always enjoyed having a look at some of the funny things that get written in the press the day after a team is beaten by Washington. It’s harder and harder to call it “Loser Papers” because often there are no newspapers in that market anymore!!!

Still, we endeavour to find funny, often dire things said about the competition when they lose to Washington.

Here are a few examples from this week’s third win of the season:

Impressive Upset Win Keeps Season Hopes Alive For WFT

Few people gave the Washington Football Team much of a chance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. The Football Team’s exciting 29-19 victory at Fed Ex Field will go down as one of this year-to-date’s biggest upsets.

Washington played their most complete game of football this season. They deserved every drop of the win, and outplayed the defending Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers for most of the game.

Washington Vs Tampa Bay: How To Watch, Listen And Inactives

This match-up features two teams coming off of a bye week. The Washington Football Team and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers both lost the last game of football they played, and both will be looking to get back on the winning side of the ledger today.

Tom Brady has thrown a league leading 25 touchdown passes. He has a 5:1 TD to interception ratio. Not bad for a 44-year old quarterback. The Bucs are 6-2 but lost a tough division battle against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8. They will be ready to play.

Given that the Washington defense is 27th in the league against the pass, it could be a long day for Football Team fans. Washington is looking to snap a four-game losing streak and get back into the thick of things in the NFC. Hopefully they can put on a good performance to honor Sam Huff, who passed away on Saturday.
