The Washington Commanders victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday was a bit if an anomaly. Why? Because Washington haven’t opened a season at 2-0 since the Occupy Wall Street movement.
That’s right, they haven’t won their first two regular season games since 2011.
It was a very tight game. Perhaps more poignantly, it definitely didn’t look like it was going to happen for at least half of the game. In fact, it almost fell through at the last moment as well.
The Washington Commanders head in to their Week 1 match-up against the Arizona Cardinals beginning a new era – the Josh Harris Era. Though it doesn’t quite roll off the tongue, it is also known as the Non-Dan-Snyder-Era. Given how things have been in Washington for the last two decades, that’s a monumental moment in franchise history.
What does the new era hold for Washington fans? So far – unbridled joy.

The Commanders cut their final roster down to 53 men yesterday, and the team is now “set” for the 2023 season. Obviously there will be many changes before the end of the season, but this is what Washington are going with to begin the campaign.
So how do they look?
The Washington Commanders began their 2023 Training Camp in Ashburn this week. Open practices for fans began on Thursday, and at the “Back Together Saturday” themed celebration yesterday – Commanders Park was “sold out”.
Somewhere in the region of 10,000 fans descended on the OrthoVirginia Training Center on Saturday. The buzz is real. After all, what could be more galvanizing to the fan base, than finally being free of the ole ball and chain?
With the $6.05 billion sale to Josh Harris, Dan Snyder’s tenure in the NFL came to an end. The league agreed to the deal yesterday.
After twenty plus years of ownership, Dan and wife Tanya took one last opportunity to prove that they just don’t get it.
