Caps have Montreal Backed in a Corner

With Washington having a 2-1 advantage in the series entering game four, Montreal finds itself staring into the abyss. Montreal dominated Washington for the first 111 minutes of this series holding the highest scoring team in the league to a paltry three goals while scoring seven of their own.

The last 82 minutes however have been quite a different story as Washington has scored ten goals to Montreal’s two.

Another Monday; another Caps Recap! Let’s do this!

The week before last, the Washington Capitals went 0-2-1. It looked like they trend would continue when they kicked their week off last week with an overtime loss to New Jersey. Instead they bounced back against a team they hadn’t beaten since 1999, the San Jose Sharks. The Caps rounded out their week Saturday night by edging Nashville in the shootout and finished 2-1-0 for the week.

Caps Clipped In Overtime

Danny Briere celebrated his 32nd birthday with a game winning goal in overtime, and gave the Philadelphia Flyers a 6-5 win over the Washington Capitals. The Flyers’ home opener looked like it might be a pretty conservative affair after a scoreless first period, but seven goals in the second frame turned it into a barn burner.
