More Pages Added To History Section | Site Acknowledged

As I wrote earlier in May, the NFL offseason seems to grow shorter and shorter as time go by; however, there is still an offseason. And that leaves some time to grow out areas of this website that I am passionate about – like the History section.

Building up the history section of this website is just part of every offseason. I try to add to the resources that this site provides, as it gets harder and harder to find some of these history elements in some cases.

Flashback Friday: Sonny Jurgensen Being Honored On Sunday

Sonny Jurgensen is already in Pro Football’s Hall Of Fame. He is arguably one of the most recognizable player’s in D.C. history. On Sunday, Sonny will watch his number 9 raised to the rafters, never to be worn by anyone in Washington again. The 88-year old Jurgensen will join Sammy Baugh (33), Bobby Mitchell (49) and Sean Taylor (21) as just the fourth player to have his jersey retired by Washington.

The team has had a long-standing tradition of not handing out the numbers of their heralded – regardless of if they are retired – so nobody has worn Sonny’s number 9 since he retired in 1974 anyway.

But on Sunday, it will become official.

Wallpaper Wednesday: Joe Jacoby Hall of Fame Wallpaper

After this week’s announcement that he was once again a semi-finalist for the Hall of Fame, it seemed like a good time to run a Joe Jacoby wallpaper. Perhaps if everyone puts it on their phone – stares at it daily, and use up all our wishes – it can finally be willed into existence.

After all, he may be the greatest NFL lineman that is not currently in the Hall Of Fame.
