Today’s wallpapers are to acknowledge two more guys that could and should be a big part of the 2022 Washington Commanders offense – Carson Wentz and Jahan Dotson. Both are new to the team obviously, with Wentz coming over from the Colts and Dotson being chosen with the Commanders very first draft pick.
They join last week’s schedule wallpaper honorees – Terry McLaurin and Brian Robinson Jr. – on what promises to be an improved offensive attack.
Washington will play it’s first ever game as the Washington Commanders today in pre-season game one. They take on their favorite trade partners – the Carolina Panthers. It will be the first time that quarterback Carson Wentz suits up for the team.
The new league year began on March 16th, and with it, there was a frenzy of activity as teams try and better themselves for the upcoming season. What have the Washington Commanders done?

The biggest news of the off-season for Washington so far, is acquiring veteran quarterback Carson Wentz from the Indianapolis Colts.
Washington’s desperate search for a quarterback came to an end on Wednesday. The Commanders reportedly struck a deal with the Indianapolis Colts for Carson Wentz. The deal will not be finalized until next week when the 2022 league year officially begins.
According to reports, Washington gave up a 3rd round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, as well as at least a 3rd round pick in 2023. If Wentz plays more than 70% of the snaps in 2022, that 2023 draft pick would increase to a 2nd round pick for Washington. The two teams also swapped their 2nd round picks in this year’s draft (Washington’s 42nd overall for Indianapolis’ 47th). Further reports today state that Washington will also receive a 7th round pick in the 2022 Draft.
Additionally, the Commanders will pay Wentz’ entire 2022 salary of $28-million-plus dollars.
