WFT’s Quarterback Quandary – Shurmur, Gilbert Or Ta’amu
The Washington Football Team lost both of their quarterbacks this week. Both Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen tested positive, and joined some 20-plus other Washington team members on the Covid-19 list. That means whomever suits up this week against the Philadelphia Eagles for the WFT, will not only have never played a down for them, they might never have played a down in the NFL.
Washington head to Philadelphia with Garrett Gilbert and Jordan Ta’amu on their roster, two quarterbacks that were only added late this week.
Bookies Don’t Like Washington’s Odds Of Beating The Eagles
It has been a chaotic week for bookmakers. A rash of Covid-19 positives amongst NFL players and coaches, forced the league to postpone three games – including the Washington versus Philadelphia game. Obviously these same injuries can also have a drastic outcome on the effect of games, and therefore, drastically effect a game’s odds.
The Football Team now has twenty-three Covid cases, including both of their quarterbacks. That earned them a two-day postponement until Tuesday. The two-day postponement is designed to allow time for the team’s players to produce negative tests ahead of their Week 15 matchup.
Washington Granted Two-Day Reprieve; Play Eagles On Tuesday
Two extra days. That’s what Washington were granted by the NFL today. The Washington Football Team’s Week 15 game against the Philadelphia Eagles will happen on Tuesday instead of Sunday.
The NFL announced three changes to the schedule because of COVID-19 cases. The Las Vegas Raiders vs. Cleveland Browns game was moved from Saturday afternoon to Monday night, and the Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Rams game was moved to Tuesday night with the WFT game.
Roger Goodell Backs Dan Snyder In Interference Accusations
On Tuesday, Will Hobson and Liz Clarke accused owner Dan Snyder of attempting to obstruct the investigation into the workplace culture of the Washington Football Team. The article written by them in the Washington Post, detailed several ways that Snyder was alleged to have interfered with the work of lawyer and investigator Beth Wilkinson. On Wednesday, league Commissioner Roger … Read more
Washington Ravaged By Covid, Now Eighteen Players On List
Washington placed another eight players on the Covid list today. That brings the total to eighteen in the last few days. And there is still time to go before the next game. Will there be any players left to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday?
It’s become almost comical at this juncture for Washington. At what point will the league consider re-scheduling the game? Obviously that’s a difficult proposition with so little time left in the regular season.
Here are the 18 players on the list:
First Look: WFT Vs Eagles – Head-To-Head, Odds, And More
The Washington Football Team will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15. The two teams share records of 6-7 and are tied for second place in the NFC East. Washington are coming off of a bitter 27-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles are coming off their bye week.
Both teams are looking for a Wild Card spot.
Neither team can afford to lose the game.
Washington Football Team Dropped By A Hungrier Dallas Squad
While the Washington Football Team rallied late to make a game of it, they were beaten fairly soundly by the Dallas Cowboys for most of their 27-20 loss on Sunday. Dallas rode a strong 18-point first quarter lead for most of the game. The win moved Dallas into a commanding lead in the NFC East at 9-4, while the WFT fell to 6-7 and in a tie with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Despite an absolute donut in the first half, and being down 24-0, Washington still had a chance to win the game at the end. The Football Team posted 12 fourth quarter points to get the score back to 27-20, and within a score. They even had a drive to potentially tie the game at 27-27 with just over three minutes to go.
WFT Vs Dallas – How To Watch, Head-To-Head, Odds, And More
The Washington Football Team head in to their Week 14 match-up with the Dallas Cowboys on a roll. The WFT have won their last four games, including last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite that good run, Washington (6-6) will need to take down the division rival Cowboys (8-4) – the current division leaders – if they want to keep pace.
This is a huge game for both teams.
Flashback Friday: Lavar Arrington Takes Out Troy Aikman
It was 21 years ago today – December 10th, 2000 – that Lavar Arrington put a hit on Troy Aikman that would prove to be Troy’s last.
This blog isn’t to glorify an injury. Not at all. It was just a significant moment in the Washington | Dallas rivalry.
Aikman was running out of bounds and throwing the ball away on the play, but Lavar finished the hit as he should. There was nothing dirty or malicious about it. It was just a strong football play.
But if you want to trigger a Cowboys fan and see them turn salty, just mention this play.
