Few people gave the Washington Football Team much of a chance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. The Football Team’s exciting 29-19 victory at Fed Ex Field will go down as one of this year-to-date’s biggest upsets.
Washington played their most complete game of football this season. They deserved every drop of the win, and outplayed the defending Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers for most of the game.
This match-up features two teams coming off of a bye week. The Washington Football Team and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers both lost the last game of football they played, and both will be looking to get back on the winning side of the ledger today.
Tom Brady has thrown a league leading 25 touchdown passes. He has a 5:1 TD to interception ratio. Not bad for a 44-year old quarterback. The Bucs are 6-2 but lost a tough division battle against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8. They will be ready to play.
Given that the Washington defense is 27th in the league against the pass, it could be a long day for Football Team fans. Washington is looking to snap a four-game losing streak and get back into the thick of things in the NFC. Hopefully they can put on a good performance to honor Sam Huff, who passed away on Saturday.
Sam Huff was a Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker and a four-time Pro Bowler, as well as a popular player and announcer in Washington. He passed away on Saturday. He was 87 years old.
A lawyer for the Huff family – Deborah Matthews – told the Associated Press that he died of natural causes in Virginia.
Huff was born and raised in a West Virginia coal mining camp. He went to West Virginia University, and was an All-American offensive lineman for the Mountaineers’ football team. He was also the catcher for the baseball team.
Both the Washington Football Team and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter this Week 10 match-up coming off of their bye week. Both teams also lost the last game they played. That’s about the sum total of their similarities – these two teams are going in opposite directions.
The 6-2 Bucs will be looking to rebound from a tough upset loss to their division rival New Orleans Saints.

These two teams have faced each other 24 times in their histories. The series is tied with each team having won 12 games.
Washington does not play in the NFL’s Week 9. However, that seemed to only intensify the mountain of off-the-field distractions going on with the organization.
Here are the things that happened that did not involve emails, the NFL, Washington, and Congress. And then some things that did.
On Sunday, Washington suffered their fourth consecutive defeat. They lost to a team in the Denver Broncos, who had themselves just lost four straight.
Once again it was a game of missed opportunities and mistakes for Washington.

After dropping to 2-6 on the weekend, the Washington Football Team certainly could be sellers as their playoff aspirations are already disappearing.
