The Washington Football Team face the Philadelphia Eagles at Fed Ex Field on Sunday, in a must-win game. On Friday, Washington potentially lost one of the most important cogs in their offensive wheel. They had to place running back Antonio Gibson on the reserve / Covid-19 list.
To make matters worse, they had to add offensive lineman Ereck Flowers to the Covid list as well. That’s a significant hit to a running game that was likely going to see a lot of work unless Washington fell behind early.
Both Gibson and Flowers are vaccinated, and could possibly “test out” of isolation before the game.
A three game losing streak and a couple of embarrassing losses in a row, would appear to have stripped the life from this 2021 WFT season. However, the WFT are not out of it yet. There is a series of events that can transpire and get Washington into the playoffs. And it’s not that far-fetched or ridiculous either.
First and foremost, Washington have to win both of their two remaining games of course.
Anthony Sweat was killed in a shooting on Tuesday evening in Henrico County. He was the 27-year-old brother of Washington defensive end Montez Sweat. The shooting occurred just after 4pm in the 7600 block of Wistar Village Drive – a busy apartment complex. Sweat was the lone victim in the shooting, and EMS pronounced him dead on … Read more
Hall of Fame coach turned broadcaster John Madden died on Tuesday morning. He was 85. The NFL reported that he had died unexpectedly, and did not give details as to the cause of death.
John Madden was a unique human. A positively special guy, who forged an indelible legacy – in football, in broadcasting, and of course, in video games.
The Washington Football Team (6-9) head in to their Week 17 match-up coming off of a demoralizing 56-14 thrashing from the Dallas Cowboys, and their third straight loss. The Philadelphia Eagles (8-7) beat up the New York Giants for their third straight victory – a 34-10 win at home. Washington will be looking to avenge the beat down that the Eagles gave them two weeks ago.
It is Washington’s last home game of 2021.
The phrase, “it was over by half-time” gets over-used a lot. However, the phrase was never more appropriate than in the Washington Football Team’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Washington were getting crushed 42-7 by half time, en route to a 56-14 drubbing on Prime Time television.
The loss moved Washington to 6-8 and out of the playoff running. That’s appropriate given their level of play the last few weeks.
The Washington Football Team’s roster has been like a yo-yo the last two weeks. Wide receiver Curtis Samuel and linebacker Jamin Davis not being able to go, are tough misses for the WFT.
Davis is a last-minute scratch because he was showing symptoms of Covid before the game.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Merrrrrrrrrry Christmas everybody.
To all those who celebrate Christmas, have a heckuva fantastic day.
May you get a Chase Young authentic jersey, an authentic helmet, two WFT snap back hats, and every wall hanging you could find with a “W” on it.
This 2021 holiday season, is the season that just keeps on giving to the Washington Football Team. On Wednesday, Washington placed it’s most dependable defender on the Covid-19 list – Cole Holcomb. Holcomb is the leader of the WFT defense. He calls the signals. He has played in all but thirteen defensive snaps for Washington … Read more
