Mike Keys Jay Gruden is now the Head Coach of the Washington Redskins… check.
So, what do we know? Gruden is a proponent of the West Coast offense… a tedious, tormentingly methodical philosophy, dependent upon crisp, well executed pass patterns, and quick reads and release.

The moniker has become an epithet in Redskins nation.
Well… it is truly an ill wind that blows no good. It’s slowly looking more and more like Shanahan and Company have found the silver lining.
So, I’ve been thinking. Mr John Mara seems opposed to actual competition from his NFC East antagonists (obviously, it’s unfair that his Giants should have to incur multiple thrashings at the hands of “inferior” East division opponents)…
I was baffled… still am… by the firing of Raheem Morris by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is a man who deserved some patience on the part of ownership. This decision will come back to haunt them, some day. He is an extremely competent football mind, whom, I’m confident, will win his share of Super Bowls as a head coach somewhere, some day.
So, Carlos Rogers, in post-game mode, apparently had some comments documented by Barry Svrluga.
NFL Statement in support of their temp zebras… “Officiating is never perfect,” the statement said. “The current officials have made great strides and are performing admirably under unprecedented scrutiny and great pressure. As we do every season, we will work to improve officiating and are confident that the game officials will show continued improvement.”
This makes if official: The NFL thinks we are stupid.

A’ight… Haven’t the last 5 years been torment enough?
I was both impressed and amused by Deangelo Hall’s new found fiestiness… in an “Awwww, come on, dude” kind of way… Here’s this little guy, never known for his physicality, talkin’ “AH MA GONNA TAKE’EMOUT” smack with Tony Romo on Dallas Week.
Deangelo: “Absolutely. I want to get a chance to put my helmet on whatever’s hurt,” Hall said. “Romo’s ribs—I’m going to be asking for some corner blitzes. If I know Felix Jones’(notes) shoulder’s hurt, I’m not going to cut him. I’m definitely going to try to hit him up high, so that’s just part of it.
“If you know something’s wrong with an opponent, you’re going to try to target in on that. We’re going to try to definitely get as many hats on that team as possible.”
Does it get any better?
The Colts are notorious as “non-performers” through pre-season. That is a given. They view preseason as an opportunity to evaluate personnel, and to get into game shape. Yet, you can’t help but wonder if there isn’t a bit of concern in Indy this morning.
The Skins dominated possession. It was a good win, one that, in prior seasons, would have been a loss… but, there was good and bad to be gleaned from yesterday’s victory over the Cards.
