First Look: WFT vs Green Bay – Opening Line, Head-To-Head And More

The Washington Football Team limp into Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 7. They are two teams that appear to be heading in different directions.

Washington were dismantled by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 31-13 at Fed Ex Field in Week 6. Subsequently, they fell to 2-4.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are 5-1 after a big 24-14 divisional win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Last year’s MVP, and another high octane offense will get a crack at a Washington defense that is still struggling. Despite forcing three first half turnovers last week, they still allowed the Chiefs 500 total net yards.

Head-To-Head

These two teams have faced each other 29 times in their histories. Green Bay lead the series 16-12-1.

The last game between the two was in 2019 at Lambeau Field. Green Bay eked out a 20-15 victory. Aaron Rodgers staked Green Bay out to an early 14-0 first quarter lead, but it was Aaron Jones who Washington couldn’t stop that day. He had 134 yards rushing (1 TD), and another 58  yards receiving for a hefty 192 yard day.

Apropos of nothing, Washington’s three offensive leaders that day were Dwayne Haskins, Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice. None of whom play for Washington just two seasons later.
