Flashback Friday: Redskins Xbox Game Simulations In 2006!

People often ask me about running this website for 25 years, and I tell them that we did a lot of things when not many people were doing them – like Xbox Game Simulations. That might sound silly to someone now. Obviously the world has changed immensely. But trust me, I’d never seen anyone doing sims back in 2006 when Christopher Allen started. Nobody.

That isn’t to say that I’m right and that we were the only ones on earth. I’m saying it was uncommon and the idea didn’t come from someone else, it came internally.

Flashback Friday

So this week for Flashback Friday, we’re flashing back to these game sims. In total Chris did six of them. Relunctantly. LOL

They are listed below. The internet was a different place twenty years ago. Things were done differently. Different things worked for search engines. Different things attracted eyes. These sims were very popular – especially amongst our own community (message boards).

Here are the six Xbox Sim posts with linkable titles and a one-sentence sample for each:

XBox 360 Game Sim: Redskins @ Giants 2006
Sean Taylor’s late interception seals a 28-25 Redskins win. It was a back-and-forth NFC East battle at the Meadowlands.

XBox 360 Game Sim – Tennessee Titans 2006
Travis Henry runs wild and the Redskins’ offense sputters in a frustrating 24-7 loss to the Titans.

XBox 360 Game Sim: Indianapolis Colts 2006
Brandon Lloyd’s late heroics and a last-second field goal seal it. The Redskins complete a thrilling 20-17 road win over Peyton Manning’s Colts.

XBox 360 Game Sim – Dallas Cowboys I 2006I
Clinton Portis and the Redskins dominate on both sides of the ball. It’s a comfortable 27-6 victory over the struggling Cowboys.

XBox 360 Game Sim – Eagles 2006
A hard-fought defensive battle ends with a 14-7 Redskins win in Philadelphia that keeps them perfect in the NFC East.

XBox 360 Game Sim – Panthers 2006
Jason Campbell’s first start as the full-time quarterback is rough as the Redskins fall 38-17 at home to the Panthers.

Hard to believe, but that first entry was 20 years ago – twenty years and two days to be exact – October 7th, 2006.

My thanks to Chris for doing these.
