The Washington Redskins (5-5) will host the Minnesota Vikings (3-7) today at FedEx Field, kickoff is at 1 p.m. The Vikings lost to the Green Bay Packers 31-3 in Minneapolis last Sunday and fired head coach Brad Childress on Monday. Leslie Frazier, the Viking’s defensive coordinator replaces Childress on the interim bases, while Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has been looking for replacements to fill his roster all week. Washington is coming off a 19-16 overtime victory at Tennessee that resulted in nine starters getting injured.
Today’s game will be the twentieth overall meeting between the Redskins and Vikings, Washington has won eight of the last 11 meetings, including two playoff wins. This is the 15th regular-season meeting, the Redskins lead the series, 8-6. and hold a 3-2 postseason edge. In their last meeting in Week 16 of the 2007 season, the Redskins held Adrian Peterson to 27 yards on nine carries while beating the Vikings 32-21
News & Notes:
— On Saturday the Redskins released unproductive wide receiver Joey Galloway and signed rookie WR Terrence Austin from the practice squad to fill the opening on the 53-man roster. Also a return specialist, Austin was selected 219th overall by the Redskins in the seventh round of the 2010 draft and spent the first 11 weeks of the season on the practice squad after he did not make the opening roster.
— Coach Mike Shanahan is known for loading the weekly NFL Injury Report however this week he did not have to use much imagination. Friday’s report included thirteen players (10 listed as Questionable) and three other players were added to the season ending injured reserve list (bringing that total to 10 players).
— Washington Redskins center Casey Rabach and guard Artis Hicks are both preparing to play on Sunday despite injuries that knocked Rabach out of last week’s game, and prevented Hicks from being active for the game. The Redskins current depth chart shows Hicks as the starter at right guard but Rabach is listed as Will Montgomery’s backup at center.
— Former second-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2007 offensive lineman Tony Ugoh, was among a group of players brought in for workouts on Wednesday but not signed, also getting a look but not signed were linebackers J.D. Folsom and Donovan Woods, defensive backs Brett Johnson, DaJuan Morgan, Ramzee Robinson, and Ko Simpson, and guard Dennis Landolt. The Redskins did sign four new players to the team this week, defensive back Macho Harris and running back Andre Brown were signed to the active roster while running back Kestahn Moore and guard/tackle Jacob Bender were added to the eight man practice squad.

Hicks had limited participation in practice this week after missing Week 11 and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
C Casey Rabach (Knee) is Questionable
Rabach left the Tennessee game with an injury to his right MCL, and had limited participation in practice this week.
WR Brandon Banks (Knee) is Questionable
Banks was limited in practice this week, and will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game.
OL Derrick Dockery (Knee) is Questionable
Dockery was limited in practice this week, and will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game.
LB Lorenzo Alexander (Hamstring) is Questionable
Alexander left the Tennessee game with a hamstring injury, was limited on Thursday and Friday after not practicing at all on Wednesday, and will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game.
DL Kedric Golston (elbow/groin) is Questionable
Golston was limited in practice this week, and will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game.
DL Jeremy Jarmon (hamstring) is Questionable
Jarmon did not practice on Friday and will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game.
CB Carlos Rogers (Hamstring) is Questionable
Rogers was limited on Friday for a third straight day after he missed Week 11 remains questionable for Sunday’s game.
LB Perry Riley (Foot) is Questionable
Riley had limited participation in practice this week after he missed Week 11 against the Titans with a foot injury and remains questionable for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
LB Rocky McIntosh (Thigh) is Doubtful
McIntosh had limited participation in practice this week and remains doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Vikings
S LaRon Landry (Achilles) is Out
Landry missed Week 11 against the Titans with an Achilles injury and remains in a walking boot he will not play Sunday.
RB Ryan Torain (Hamstring) is Out
Torain missed Week 11 against the Titans with a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.

WR Malcolm Kelly (Hamstring)
Kelly was placed on the injured reserve list on August 31st after pulling his left hamstring. He did not take part in the 2010 preseason activities.
WR Mike Furrey (Concussion)
Furrey was placed on the injured reserve list August 21st because of a concussion. Furrey has a history of concussion problems and that could force the veteran to consider retirement.
OL Mike Williams (Non-Football Injury)
Williams was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list August 10th after doctors found blood clots near his heart.
LB Robert Henson (Knee)
Henson was placed on the injured reserve list September 8th after he was released and the went unclaimed off waivers.
OL Clint Oldenburg (Ankle)
Oldenburg was placed on the injured reserve list September 8th after he was released and the went unclaimed off waivers.
P Josh Bidwell (Hip)
Bidwell was placed on the injured reserve list October 7th after he re-injured the same hip that kept him out of the NFL in 2009
S Chris Horton (Ankle)
Horton was placed on the injured reserve list for the second year in a row on November 8th after re-injuring his ankle
S Anderson Russell (Knee)
Russell will miss the remainder of the season after being placed on the injured reserve November 23rd because of a knee injury suffered in his first game as a member of the Washington Redskins.
RB Chad Simpson (Foot)
Simpson will miss the remainder of the season after being placed on injured reserve on November 23rd with a broken metacarpal in his foot suffered during pre-game warmups in week 11.
RB Clinton Portis (Abdominal)
Portis tore an abdominal muscle against Tennessee in his first game back after missing five with a torn groin, and he’ll be placed on injured reserve for the second time in as many seasons.
