I liked him as a player - but we cant say that there aren't people to replace him.

When it comes to our TEs and WRs I can't help but picture the scene in "Attack of the Clones" where there are zillions of the clones being made and Obi Wan is like "Oh! well that'll do"

So what's the big idea, putting a two-time Pro Bowler in competition with a should-be scrub who hasn't even had time to prove himself worthy of the starting position?

Notice instead of stating the obvious - that the two time pro bowler's skills have fallen dramatically they make it seem like this ...

Good News

I think there is some good news in the QB controversy and that is that it always seems that the backup QB was better than the starter. It is the Redskin way to have a QB controversy. Before my time it was Kilmer/Jurgeson. More in my time there was Schroeder/Williams, Williams/Rypien, Rypien ...

91

The 91 team was clearly better. Ill grant that the offense was better in 83 - but not by that much. The defense was a whole lot better in 91. I forget the exact numbers but 91 gave up something like 14 points per game - the 83 team gave up something like 21 (remember the Packers putting up a ...

I've said it before - look at Brunell's stats and you see he has never thrown for more than 20 TDs in a year - and on teams with good offensive players. This to me says "capable backup". I hope PRam wins the starting job, I think he has the potential to put more points on the board.

I voted for trade for another young veteran - although older veteran will do. I love Joe gibbs but lets face reality - in his first stint as head coach he was pretty bad at drafting players out of college - especially as his career wore on and Bobby B had less of an influence - (for example Bobby ...

player representation

Remember the Turks? One bozo represented the other bozo and himself. There are two more that will not be missed. Im still aggravated by the Tampa game. That was the last guy I can remember representing himself (as well as his brother. Of course guys in the NBA represent themselves all the time now ...

I might be missing something so please help me out. We want to cut down on leaks so we don't subscribe to a service. But say if we are interested in a player, we don't go to one of these combines, that means we work with the player individually - doesn't that INCREASE the chance for leaks? "Dude ...

If it were up to my dad he would say "Slingin' Sammy Baugh - Jurgenson was the only QB they've had that could carry his jockstrap. The rest of those QBs are bums - bums I tell ya, Bums!" Thats just my dad though.

I always thought Tim Johnson's years in 1992 and 1993 were some of the best DL play I have ever seen for the Skins - I guess that is techinically still in the Mann era. The team in '93 was so bad and Johnson was so good that I swear there were some plays where he got triple teamed.

As for ...

Ricks?

I read somewhere the Skins were interested in signing Mikhael Ricks, cut by the Lions. Statswise I think he was second on the team in receiving yardage but only started 6 games. He weighs 260 - does anyone know if he can block? I don't know if I want to keep adding mediocre people. We now have 8 TEs ...

I dont understand the question - is it bring back any great player from the past (how could you not pick D. Green?) or bring back a current player that we once had? I think bring back a current player that we once had would be a more interesting question. Champ is obviously one of the best we have ...

There are three teams in the NFC East with good talent. the gints are not one of them. I dont care who the coach is - they are not going to win with that offensive line.

The skins have some talent - and as everyone here knows that talent was misused last year. Gibbs is walking into a situation ...

I'm offended about a number of things - mainly about the fact that we have more mediocre wide receivers than there are fans that we can fit into Jack Kent Cooke stadium.

"stacked" might not be the right term but the English language isn't helping us out any. There needs to be an English word for "overloaded roster with 3 bazillion wide receivers of average ability".

I was kidding - maybe I should tone down the sarcasm. Then again maybe its part of Snyder's evil plot to eventually sign every wide receiver in the league and field a team comprised of nothing but wide receivers.

I can see him talking to other GMs now "Wide receivers? Yeah we got wide receivers ...

I agree that Griffin is not a superstar. However, his strength is in stopping the run - something that we have not had since...(pick a player here - Ill go with Tim Johnson the most underrated DT we have ever had). We had very good linebackers (and corners) last year - as well as this year. However ...
