The Washington Redskins travelled to play the Carolina Panthers, and pretty much just got destroyed.
Before I get started on the offense, I want to bring up the defense.

Before I get started on the offense, I want to bring up the defense.
Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback has started his career with a bang, which has helped people forget some of the turmoil that he stirred up before he even get to the NFL.
So this week’s THN Toon is just a friendly public service announcement to help Redskins fans remember things:
Okay, so by the numbers, the Redskins offense overall ranks 17th in the 3 major categories (yards per game, pass yards per game, and rush yards per game). They rank 22nd in the league in yards per play. They’re tied for 19th in yards per carry, and 12th in attempts per game. They’re tied for 25th in plays from scrimmage with 327, of which 180 are passing attempts. That’s 55%, which is respectable.
But let’s break down into more numbers. On first down, the Washington Redskins (with Rex Grossman) have attempted 67 passes. Ryan Torain has run on 15 first downs, Hightower 38 times, and Roy Helu 15 times. That’s 68 attempts on the ground vs. 67 attempts through the air.

Word is that King Dunlap may not be able to play on Sunday, and that could become the Achilles heel for the Philadelphia Eagles. Dunlap was expected to play in place of starter Jason Peters, who was officially ruled out of this week’s action.
Not only do the Eagles have to go three deep at left tackle if King can’t go, but the only other option they have, is to play Todd Herremans at left tackle. At first glance, that wouldn’t appear earth-shattering as Herremans is listed as the right tackle, but what a depth chart won’t tell you is that he was already playing out of position. Herremans is naturally a guard.

This type of blog seemed to go over well last time, so I’m going to keep doing it. I send out a tweet for some crowdsourced information, and I put the #RedskinsNation’s thoughts into a blog.
Here’s this week’s topic…
At THN, we’re always trying to do things a little differently, or at least with a touch of our own flavor. So I had an idea a few weeks ago, that I set into motion and will launch today. We’re going to do a cross blog promotion with some new friends and old.
Gone are the days where people would never even dream of mentioning other people’s websites or blogs; it’s a big world out there, and you can reach a lot more people when you help each other, not stifle each other. So I reached out to a few people to see if they would be interested in doing something together, and to my delight, everybody I asked was into it.
Congratulations to our week 2 Hognostication winner MDSKINSFAN with a very impressive 14-2 record! Rounding out the top four were Warmother, Countertrey and vwoodzpusha all with the same 14-2 record! Now that’s some Hognostication at it’s finest!!
