Wow, what the hell happened? I turn my back on the Capitals for two weeks, and they fall right apart!
Needless to say my absence has left me pretty far behind on my recapping, but really, do you want me to re-hash the last couple of weeks, game by game? Didn’t think so.
For Caps’ fans, this week was a roller coaster. They started off by shutting out the Lightning in Tampa; then went to Buffalo and got shut out themselves. They came home for a victory over Carolina, and travelled to Toronto for a loss to the Leafs.

My Caps recap articles will resume this Monday, but with the way the Caps played last week, I really felt I needed to acknowledge a few things.
I want to start out by apologizing to you, my loyal reader; there will be no Caps Recap next week as I will be travelling on business. The unfortunate part is that I will be in Miami, which is about five hours east of Tampa Bay when the Caps travel to Tampa to face the Lightning.

With Hockey teams, it’s all about chemistry. With some players, you can’t detect their impact by the score-sheet alone; only by their absence. The Caps have gone two weeks without their star left-winger Alex Ovechkin, and won four tough games without him.
After spending the previous week in the road, the Hershey Bears took a liking to the home cooking during their two game weekend at Giant Center, running the table and downing two of their divisional rivals, the Norfolk Admirals and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
