Today’s featured wallpaper is themed on Washington’s alternate black jerseys – their tribute to the troops.
The uniforms feature numbers on the helmets, the Washington D.C. flag on the sleeve, and yellow trim.
Debut
The all black look was originally slated to be debuted during the Salute To Service weekend, as it has many military features. It has camouflage accents – the three stars and the military-themed flag.
Salute To Service takes place in Weeks 9 through 11. It is the league’s “annual commitment to Honor, Empower, and Connect with the nation’s service members, veterans, and their families.”
Instead Washington’s black alternates debut got moved ahead, and debuted for their Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. At the time, it seemed the only reason for doing so was to deflect away from the Commanders horrible start to the season.
The black alternates have been fairly polarizing in that people seem to either absolutely love it, or flat out hate it. Many have stated that it is very similar – maybe too similar – to the Pittsburgh Steelers color rush uniforms.

There are two ever so slightly different versions here for you to download – a Lock Screen version and a Home screen version. The Home screen version is “faded” so that your home screen icons can still be seen.
