Today’s wallpapers are to acknowledge two more guys that could and should be a big part of the 2022 Washington Commanders offense – Carson Wentz and Jahan Dotson. Both are new to the team obviously, with Wentz coming over from the Colts and Dotson being chosen with the Commanders very first draft pick.
They join last week’s schedule wallpaper honorees – Terry McLaurin and Brian Robinson Jr. – on what promises to be an improved offensive attack.
Carson Wentz
The veteran quarterback is joining his third team in three seasons, which sounds slightly ominous. However, the Colts seem to have scapegoated him slightly for their drop off last year.
For all intents and purposes, Wentz is arguably the most capable quarterback in Washington since at least Kirk Cousins – perhaps even Brad Johnson.
Not only that, he has proven to be a very mature football player through the summer – with the heaps of garbage that have been thrown at him. Colts owner Jim Irsay could not possibly have come off any more petty than he has over Wentz’ departure. Yet through it all, Wentz remained professional and courteous and took the high road at every turn. The quarterback was even faced with some bizarre fan comments at Camp that he also championed without a blemish (The “Can I have your wedding ring?” idiot).
Jahan Dotson
What will this young man be capable of? Only time will tell. But after being selected 16th overall in the 2022 Draft, Dotson has done nothing but impress through all of the off-season activities.
The kid has hands. The kid has speed. He also seems to have developed some chemistry with Wentz already.
Dotson has the capability to provide a fantastic 1-2 punch with McLaurin, and give opposing defenses fits.
