Finally Back In Black Again

Sometimes life serves you lemons and there is no lemonade to be found.

An unforeseen life hiccup caused me to be offline for much longer than expected, my apologies.

Things have smoothed out now, and I look forward to trying to bring you some interesting Washington Football Team content in 2021.

As for Sunday, what do you even say?

It was bad, then it was good, and then it was bad again.

Ryan Fitzpatrick down for the count in the first game… and for at least half the season. You just can’t dream up scenarios bad enough to include what happens to WFT sometimes. Although, some would point out that those are the risks you take, bringing in a veteran quarterback.

Taylor Heinicke fared pretty well in relief, but obviously it wasn’t quite good enough, and Washington fell to the Los Angeles Chargers 20-16.

Hopefully this is just a case of it taking the team a couple of games to roll into something better.

Heinicke will lead Washington (0-1) into action against the New York Giants (0-1) tomorrow night at Landover, Md.

“He understands what he has to do and how he has to do it. I’m excited to see what’s going to happen,” Coach Ron Rivera said of the 28-year old quarterback.

The quick turnaround is tough so early in the season, but it’s the same for both teams. New York looks to rebound after being stomped 27-13 at home by the Denver Broncos in their season opener.

Washington will be looking to get a monkey off of their back of sorts – the Giants have beat Washington five straight times.

Ouch.

Hail!
