DeAngelo Hall and Richard Sherman Square Off On Twitter

By now you must have heard about the Twitter beef last night between the Redskins DeAngelo Hall and Richard Sherman. What started as some casual banter quickly turned into a full-blown back-and-forth between two of the league’s most outspoken defensive backs. For fans, it was peak entertainment: two Pro Bowl corners trading barbs in real time, and giving us an unfiltered look at their competitive fire.

It was fun. It was very 2014. It was… epic…

Hall and Sherman have locked horns in the past, but here is where it appears to have begun last night…

And then further to that…

Note the “mention” here of Darrell Green and Deion Sanders – it is significant later on…

Was hall softening here? If you check the times of these tweets, Hall was likely sending the below, while Sherman was firing the above barbs…

Ochocinco comes to save the day!!!

Ochocinco tries again…

Finally, Darrell Green arrives to put out the fire…

Having been “mentioned” early on in the fracas, DG’s appearance wasn’t out of the blue, but it certainly was mildly surprising to those in virtual attendance. And it certainly had an immediate affect…

In the end, Sherman deleted the tweets later on that night. He left this in it’s place…

To my followers sorry you all had to see that…. But if you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything!

The Hall–Sherman Twitter beef was classic NFL drama — part trash talk, part theater, and 100% fun for fans. Both players typically back up their words on the field, but moments like this make them stand out as personalities as much as playmakers. Plus, Twitter never forgets.

All on a Thursday night in the offseason?

Epic.
