THN: You said you are usually harder on yourself after a loss, so do you feel better about how you performed this week after the defense spurred the team to a win? What were you personally able to execute this week?
AC: I am happy after a win but as I analyze the film I saw a few plays that I wish I did differently. My pass rush moves on three plays were bad. We were effective on stopping the run but on one play, [Steven] Jackson ended up getting a large gain on one play. We all hated that play.
THN: The defense had more success getting to the quarterback this weekend. What was it that the defense saw that equated to the success? Or was it just that the defense did the same but executed better?
AC: I don’t know what it was. I think we were all on the same page. The first game is always the toughest because the adrenaline is pumping and you are all over the place. This past Sunday’s game we communicated better and were in the zone.
THN: The team was able to listen to music during practice last week, such as Metallica and Jay-Z. What did that do for you and what did it do for the team? Did you have any say in the music that was played? Is that what the team needed following Week 1?
AC: I don’t know who brought the idea of playing music during practice warmups. It was a change up. It keeps the blood flowing. I enjoy it.
THN: Who stood out to you on defense and on offense and why? Or was Shaun Suisham the player of the game? You can include yourself on defense if you would like.
AC: Our kicker, scoring points for the offense, did a great job. On defense, it was a team effort. And on special teams, Lorenzo Alexander. . . Go Bears.
THN: The secondary was introduced individually like the rest of the defense before the game but ran out of the tunnel as a group. Do you see the defensive line doing that eventually?
AC: The secondary are a different breed. Lol. But that’s their thing. I don’t forsee the defensive line going out as a group. But then again you never know. . . . Sike!!!
