Hognostications Week 10

Sorry for not posting last week but I had to put country first.  I do not know when the pick sheets will be updated on the main page.  So while we wait, continue to post your picks in Around the League each week and I will tally up the scores on Tuesdays and post the winners.

Here is my latest attempt to gain some ground on the leaders, which is nearly everyone…….

Denver at Cleveland:  The Broncos(4-4) travel to Cleveland(3-5).  The Broncos squeezed out a win Thursday night.  Pick Broncos

New Orleans at Atlanta:  The Saints(4-4) travel to Atlanta(5-3).  The Saints have the NFL’s leading offense, but the Falcons aren’t too shabby coming in at #7.  This will be a good divisional game.  Both teams are coming off of wins.  The Falcons are undefeated at home and the Saints have a 0-3 road record.  Pick Falcons

Tennessee at Chicago:  The Titans(8-0) travel to Chicago(5-3).  Both are impressive teams and they are each leading their divisions.  I think Titans defense will be too much for the Bears. Pick Titans

Jacksonville at Detroit:  The Jags(3-5) travel to Detroit(0-8).  The Jaguars’ offense and defense is ranked 23rd in the league.  Detroit’s offense is #28 and dead last in defense.  Pick Jaguars

Baltimore at Houston:  The Ravens(5-3) travel to Houston(3-5).  The Ravens have won 3 straight and are looking to take another step towards the playoffs.  The Texans’ offense ranks #4 but their defense is #17.   I look for Baltimore’s #2 defense to stop the Texans.  Pick Ravens

Seattle at Miami:  The Seahawks(2-6) travel to Miami(4-4).  The Seahawks are just awful this year.  They rank #31 in offense and #27 in defense.  Miami is #9 in offense and #22 in defense.  I’ll take the Fins.  Pick Dolphins

Green Bay at Minnesota:  The Packers(4-4) travel to Minnesota(4-4).  These two teams are very evenly matched.  The Packers offense is #14 compared to the Vikings at #13.  The Pack’s defense comes in at #20 while the Vikes are #11.  GB has lost 1 in a row while the Vikes have won 1 in a row.  The Vikes are 3-1 at home while Green Bay has 2-2 road record.  Tough game.  Pick Vikings

Buffalo at New England:  The Bills(5-3) travel to New England(5-3).  This game determines the leader for the division.  Buffalo has the #10 defense as compared to the Patriots #14.  The offense ranks Buffalo at #20 and the Patriots at #18.  Buffalo started the season strong but they recently lost to the Jets and Miami.  The Patriots lost a close on last week to the Colts.  Go with home team here.  Pick Patriots

St. Louis at NY Jets:  The Rams(2-6) travel to NY Jets(5-3).  The Rams started slow then beat the Redskins and the Cowboys back-to-back.  Since then they have lost to the Patriots and Cardinals.  The Jets have surprised some this year.  The Jets are 3-1 at home while the Rams are 1-3 on the road.  Go with the home team.  Pick Jets

Carolina at Oakland:  The Panthers(6-2) travel to Oakland(2-6).  The Raiders have lost 2 in a row and Al Davis is senile.  Pick Panthers

Indianapolis at Pittsburgh:  The Colts(4-4) travel to Pittsburgh(6-2).  The Colts are starting to come alive.  The NFL’s offense ranks the Colts at #22 and the Steelers at #25.  In defense the Colts rank #15 and the Steelers are #1.  Pittsburgh’s #1 defense is for real.  Pick Steelers

Kansas City at San Diego:  The Chiefs(1-7) travel to San Diego(3-5).  The Chiefs suck.  Pick Chargers

NY Giants at Philadelphia:  The Giants(7-1) travel to Philadelphia(5-3).  This has to be one of the best games of the week.  Giants are on a roll and are ranked #5 in offense and #3 in defense.  The Eagles are #6 in offense and #5 in defense.  Both teams have won 3 in a row.  I think the determining factor in the game will be if Westbrook is healthy.  Reports are that he hasn’t practiced all week, but this is probably to save him for game day.  I look for a high scoring game with the edge to the home team.  Pick Eagles

San Francisco at Arizona:  The 49ers(2-6) travel to Arizona(5-3) on Monday night.  The 49ers are struggling.  The Cardinals aren’t.  Pick Cardinals

Byes: Bengals, Cowboys, Buccaneers, Redskins
