There was a little “nip” in the air this week. “Football weather”, some may say. Others may say that it’s not really “football weather” until the temperature gets below freezing. For us at TheHogs.Net tailgate, any weather is football weather.
This week the tailgate started out with a little 4-wheeling by TheHogs.Net brothers. I was able to pull at the end of a long line early (right next to the parking lot entrance), where I parked my truck, emptied it to set up our tailgating area, and then waited for the gates to open. DEHog and Hailskins666 were still out on Arena Drive stuck in main traffic (which was
stopped). Then, all of the sudden, a few of the trucks in front of DEHog and Hailskins666 pulled into the parking lot. No, not through the gate, but over a sidewalk, over the grass and into the parking lot about 15 minutes before the lot was scheduled to open. Upon securing 2 of our 3 spots, Hailskins666 was thinking about how I would have to wait until the lot “officially” opened when, all of the sudden, he sees me pull my vehicle across the sidewalk, across the grass and into the parking lot along side of my brothers. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to secure the best tailgating spot on the lot, right?
On this week’s menu was BBQ Raven (brought by me). Hailskins666 brought some chili and shrimp. DEHog brought buffalo shrimp, wings and Bubba Burgers. Needless to say, if anyone left that tailgate hungry, it was their own fault.
A few visitors stopped by again this week: Matt Roney from Eldeesburg, MD and John Swarts from Baltimore, MD to name a few. We were also once again honored that Howiette Hogette stopped by to sign some autographs this week. The more and more I see Howiette, the more and more I admire and respect this guy. Howiette is one of the nicest guys you’re ever going to meet, so if you ever get a chance to meet him, take it.
My friend, Steve, was also around… wearing his Baltimore Ravens jersey. TheHogs.Net crew took care of him though. You can check that out, as well was looking at the other tailgating pictures, in the gallery.
I was chatting with Amy saying how I really wished moreof our theHogs.Net brothers and sisters were there to tailgate with, and within 5 minutes, Jake and Skinschic showed up and hung out with us until we went into the game. All of us really enjoy meeting our fellow TheHogs.Net brothers and sisters so we strongly encourage you to stop by our tailgate if/when you’re able to attend any home game.
After the game, we all hung out for about 10-15 minutes, mourning another loss and discussing the problems the Redskins are having, hoping for a more successful future as the team gets a better grasp on Joe Gibbs football. Win-lose or draw, however, TheHogs.Net tailgaters will be out in full force for each home game..so please come join us.
Until next time, save one of those beers for me!”
