TheHogs.Net tailgate was really up-and-running this week. We fought off the Labor Day traffic and arrived about 10 minutes before the lot was opened. We set up shop and a great location at the corner of Red Lot #4 right at Arena Drive. We put up our brand new 12 X 12 canopy and proudly hung our new theHogs.Net banner for all arriving cars to see. We then set up our new Thermos Fire & Ice grill (which was “the bomb”) and the food started flowin’. The weather was also great (unlike the Carolina game) so we were all able to spread out and enjoy each others’ company that much more.
I was truly honored to finally meet some of my fellow theHogs.Net brothers and sisters, who were in attendance: Wingman (and brother); Hailskins666 (and Amy); Skinschic; and Jake. DEHog wasn’t there but he will be there for all future games.
Before I go on, I want to tell you a little secret, but you have to promise not to tell anyone else: Hailskins666 is not as mean as one might think. He’s actually a very cool guy. (Don’t tell anyone I told you that, okay?)
Moving on….while we were there, I even received a telephone call from NC43Hog to wish us well! Hopefully, in the future, many more of you can come out and join us!
We also had the opportunity to meet a lot of new friends and spread the word about TheHogs.Net. Here is what some of them had to say:
Tim Newman from Felton, PA writes, “Go Skins! Enjoyed the tailgate!”
Toot Newman from Fayetteville, NC writes, “Thanks for the great company & the scrapple sandwich.”
Ralph and Ann Johnson from Mathews, VA stopped by and said, “Great fun!”
Our neighbors, Kevin, Tami & Aliyah from Winchester, VA wrote, “Great hospitality. Thanks!”
Mark Valdez from Front Royal, VA stopped by and said, “Great scrapple!”
Shelly Sakisat from Winchester, VA, obviously focusing on issues not necessarily Redskins or tailgate related, writes “Four More Years!”
Brews Brooks from Bethesda, MD stopped by and showed his enthusiasm when he wrote “Gibbs! Gibbs! Gibbs!”
Finally, Rich Haig from Newburg, MD stopped by and said, “Great parking crew!”
Yes, TheHogs.Net tailgate is about meeting new friends and spreading the word about our great website. All of us had a great time as we talked with each other, ate, drank, and laughed.
I encourage all of you that are planning on attending a Redskins game this year to stop by and see us. The more the merrier!! Bring drink, bring food… heck, we’ll even grill it for you. If you can’t bring any food with you, we will gladly accept donations in our little donation jar to help us ease our costs of throwing the tailgate at each future home game.
Beginning next week, you also might be lucky enough to meet (and get your picture taken with) a Hogette! Look for us at the corner of Red Lot #4. If you need help finding us, feel free to private message us on the boards or drop us an e-mail.
Until next time, save one of those beers for me!
