Re: WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE?

The point about having a good football man in charge of personnel decisions is absolutely true. Problem is, those guys don't grow on trees. They are few and far between. While it's too early to tell much about Allen, it's pretty clear that our drafts have not been as productive as they need to be to ...

Re: What if Colt McCoy goes on a 5 game win streak?

The way I see it, the QB position is the least of the Redskins worries at this point, because the way the rest of the team is playing, it's unlikely that even Aaron Rogers or Tom Brady could make this team a contender. And to be blunt, there are good reasons to explain why this sad state of affairs ...

Re: What if Colt McCoy goes on a 5 game win streak?

Let's understand that both Cousins and McCoy are really just good back up QBs and we have both because we could not be sure what we were going to get from Griffin

Gruden has decided to go with McCoy because Griffin's mechanics are not giving the offense any chance to work as designed - this is ...

Re: Trent Dilfer on Griff and Kyle Shanahan

^ it WAS the same knee actually..

I think that Shanny and co stunted his growth by not developing him as a qb better.

Even in 2012 people forget we were 3-6 and Shanny already in "evaluation" mode.. he had given up on the season and the team- shouldered by RG3 took us to the playoffs IN SPITE OF ...

Re: Trent Dilfer on Griff and Kyle Shanahan

Kevin Sheehan pretty much thinks the worst thing this franchise has ever done under Snyder was fire Shanahan. And he brought up a bunch of good points on the radio.

I'm of the opinion that the worst thing was hiring him in the first place. Mike didn't produce much in his 4 years here, nor in his ...

Re: Trent Dilfer on Griff and Kyle Shanahan

Taking RG3 was a huge risk, particularly because of the cost in picks, and because running QBs historically don't pan out in the NFL. Everyone kept repeating that mantra about him being a throw first QB that can run, rather than a running QB, but in retrospect, it wasn't true. He's a running QB, and ...

Re: Cooley's Weekly Breakdown

RGMe blows

Look at this play.

1. Beautiful pocket with no pressure ... and RG0 decides to run to the outside anyway
2. RGMe can't find anyone open ... even though every receiver is open by 5+ yards (15 feet).
3. Receivers #1 and #2 look poised for 30+ yards gains if he would throw the ball to ...

Re: Cooley's Weekly Breakdown

Interestingly (to me) we've all seen the Griff who is the antithesis of the Griff described above. We have all seen "1st read" Griff who DOES trust the offense, who has confidence, who pulls the trigger. Heck, we've even see "throw covered guy open with the perfect throw" Griff.

Re: Should We Start McCoy ??

I like cousins, and he shows a lot with his ability to throw down field for big gainers. But what people seem to be forgetting is that he's still green as hell, and for all intent and purpose, still a rookie, experience wise.

I tell you this ... you look at his stats for the few games he has under ...

Re: Robert Griffin III and the Sunk Cost Fallacy

The point of the matter is valid, and inescapable. When you give up as much as the Redskins did to get RG3, you don't just give up on him, else he truly does become a bust. The FO isn't going to accept failure easily, giventhe price it paid.

On the other hand, a new head coach who played no role in ...

Oh good lord ... Rambo was horrible regardless of the round he was picked. Poor tackling is one thing, but the poor angles, and missing the ball and the receiver by two or three feet, allowing routine completions to become big plays? There is no excuse. This is a safety position ... meaning you keep ...

Re: RGIII Out Possibly Only A Month

Cousins doesn't need to play like Manning, and it's never going to happen, since only a handful of QBs in the history of the game have achieved that lofty level. Kirk just needs to play like the "good" Kirk, and avoid the mistakes the "bad" Kirk has made in the past limited play he's had.

Now I'm ...

Re: Start Cousins & Try To Make Playoffs

Regarding RG3, statistics aren't a very accurate way of measuring success or failure ... results ar, and watching his performance last year, would anyone in their right mind give up what the Redskins gave up to draft him? I don't think so.

My thoughts watching him last year had me thinking that he ...

Re: Skins Texans postgame thread

2 turnovers in the red zone ... a blocked punt for a TD ... blocked extra point ... trouble with pass protection ... these are not a good recipe for a win.

RG3 still looks confused .... and it appears to me that he's not getting the ball out of his hands fast enough on some plays. Whether that is a ...

Re: Colt McCoy is a Redskin

Seems pretty simple to me - we have a really good back up QB in Cousins - I really doubt that we're going to trade him - there's no reason to do that

The QB is the most important part of the franchise and we have a good back up - why would you 'give' that away ....

I totally agree ... and ...

Why would it only be a legitimate "excuse" for one player? You can accept that Mitchell is a player and "Players care about things other than money. Players have thoughts. Players ...

Re: Free agency: where should we spend Dan's money?

Nobody outside of Snyder, Bruce, and handful of people at Redskins Park know what Snyder's roll is. It's absurd to say that he is completely out of the picture, let alone to base that opinion off of one day of free agency.

True. I think it's safe to say that he's not out of control anymore. I'd ...

I'm not disappointed at all - we're in dire need of a decent secondary but we also have to face the fact that it's not getting better by going overboard by adding 1 good/great safety

this franchise is building itself up and recovering from the BS cap hit and the micro managing/coaching of Mike ...

I guess I'm the only one extremely disappointed in how the early stage of FA has worked out?

The way is see it, the Redskins have totally dropped the ball in not acquiring one of the top tier DB's ... particularly Byrd, given the dire need for a free safety. The Saints picked him up for less than ...
