I agree that best available is the way to go with a late 2nd rounder (either LB, CB or OL). You know there will be a guy or 2 left that are first round material. It will probably be a Cb unfortunately. I think the wealth of LB is not that deep, and the ones left will be 3rd round types. As for OL ...

DB, DE, and OT would all be good in the 2nd round if a quality guy has slipped. Just to think outside the box for a minute though. What if a guy like Maurice Drew (RB-UCLA) is still available. Rock and Ladell are ok, but if Portis gets hurt, our season could be done. I think it might be wise to get ...

Nice post BH. Additionally, what no one seems to be saying is that Gibbs inherited a team on the brink of cap disaster. Gibbs is doing what has to be done. But a lot of it we can thank Spurrier and the other former sudo-coaches for. We all knew these cap problems were coming. Gibbs only real mistake ...

No, I'm talking Antre. But Pac-man Jones is ok too if we can't get Rolle.

Anyone know if we get anything from the Vikings?

I'd rather try to keep Gardner than sign Porter. At least Gardner has generally been healthy. At lot depends on Gardner and Smoot for where we use our #9. But a good OL selection wouldn't be terrible if M Williams is gone. Especially since there seem to be a bunch of decent CBs in the draft.

Air Hog, you would probably be a good fit to draft for San Diego since you are kind of forced to have knowledge of that team in Orange County.

I think the 49ers will trade out of the #1 spot as they need D and signed Nolan (Baltimore Def Coor as head coach). Someone who needs a QB will move up. Possible Cleveland, possibly Dallas, Maybe even AZ. Aaron Rodgers is the likely #1 with Leinart out. M Williams will be top 7. Oakland will get him ...

Cody is overrated, but that is not to say he can't add weight and strength. I think he will be good in a year, but not on day 1. He has a motor though. That kind of stuff in infectious.

i'll say it again. white is a stiff and williams will go in the top 10 as long as he hasn't forgotten how to put on a jock strap. my point of contention is white, and someone saying that white should go ahead of him.

Top 10 does not #1 overall make.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, this year the WR ...

I disagree. Cooley is looking good and we have more pressing needs. I just think our biggest problem on offense is stetching the field, and a big 255 guys isn't going to do that.

The Postons are like kryptonite to the NFL. I agree, stay far away from their players.

We need a pass rush to make our secondary better. We won't see a lot of turnovers until we put some pressure on the QB. Unfortunately, teams won't be forced to pass until they get behind. Which means we need another big play receiver. Its a tough call, but I don't think we should be trading up. Or ...

Remember, TB is Gruden. With the raiders he had T Brown, J Rice, and J Porter. And with gannon nearly set the all time passing yards record. He would love another great WR.

We have Gibbs. That is why we don't need superstuds. We need to draft well. Unfortunately, Synder knows the clock is ticking for Gibbs before retiring. I think that is part of his reason to lean toward free agents. But its still a bad move.

Patrick needs to start throwing some 3rd down bombs. He's got a good arm and it will stretch the field and if it's picked off a lot of times its as good as a punt. Unlike Brunell, whose pick are always trouble.
