That Safety

I am NOT one to blame refs for a game. games shouldn't ever come down to refs and we ought to be able to overcome setbacks.

BUT - someone help me understand what the deal was with the safety? I had no audio at the bar i was at, but is there something I don't understand about the rules here?
It ...

this is ridiculous. it would be one thing if brunell entered the game and threw for a couple of tds and broke the game open.
but he came in and nothing happened. the offense still stunk.
I think Gibbs knows better than to yank Ramsey just for getting hurt. One INT isn't a big deal, and he ...

Hey--I live in Brooklyn, and I've been watching the games out there (200 5th in Park Slope)

Hey- i just moved out of brooklyn, and used to go to 200 Fifth in park slope also. Usually a fair number of skins fans... good atmosphere, too. food... not so good.
Hey JWsleep... maybe we saw each ...

With most NFL analysts believing this weekend's draft is one of the weakest in memory, the Redskins yesterday surprisingly traded their No. 1 pick next season and two other picks to the Broncos for the 25th overall selection Saturday. One NFL source who has spoken to officials from many clubs said ...

the more i think about it, the more absurd this whole thing sounds.
gibbs doesn't like dealing with rookie qbs, and it would back the team into a bad corner. Ramsey would rightfully demand a trade, and gibbs wouldn't want to start a rookie, so we'd end up playing brunell for another year. I think ...

yea, i can't believe it either. poor patrick ramsey. why can't he be given one real, full chance? i like jason campbell just fine, but come on.
then again, last year there were rumors that we were going to trade up to get eli manning, and that didn't happen. fingers crossed... stay the course, joe.

THE GAME, The Season

That was such a heartbreaking loss... but let's try to remember, it's not like the skins were really getting going and were going to threaten in the playoffs. they didn't deserve the playoffs and they didn't make it. There's always next year, folks, and soon enough, Gibbs will right this ship. I ...

I Love Mitchell, and I think on the whole he's right... but to be fair, didn't Portis have a torn muscle? I don't think at this point we should question his heart.

from what i saw, ramsey played a nearly perfect game. i'm not sure what more anyone can expect from a quarterback who is still evolving.

I agree. 30.46, 246 yards, 1 Int (granted, a costly one). We all wish that ball hadn't been thrown. might have actually won the game. Deserved to, in my ...

anybody see the post-game interview with ramsey? looked like he was about to cry. i say, cut the guy a break. played a heck of a game, kept things together. a bad call, a terrible pass. it happens. he's not there yet... and neither is the team. in the post game, a reporter said "what were you trying ...

passing yards

hey,
i realized yesterday that i've never known this... how do passing yards stats work? do they count yards after pass or not? is it just the yards the ball actually travelled from the line of scrimage to the receiver, or until he's tackled?

to be fair, our punter's been doing great, particularly in the last few games. and our starting kicker is out. as far as the WRs, i think you might be right. Coles is supposed to be the go-to guy, and he just isn't doing it. Then again, Ramsey had some major overthrows.

Well, I, for one, would like to see a relatively quiet offseason. here and there a few quiet signings of quality, non-superstar players. No effort to win the offseason spending title. I think the team obviously has a lot of potential... certainly signing a bunch of big name players isn't going to ...

... and with this team, we'll almost always need it.

Listen,
we all knew our team wasn't good. I knew it, you knew it, we all knew it. They do all the things that keep a team from being good. they blow opportunities. they commit absurd penalties. But let's all chill. We got beat by a better ...

Ramsey has thrown a bunch of interceptions in the 2 games he's played this season. but those situations weren't just tough situations. they were situations where he had to pass, to try to get us back in the game. As I said a few months ago, how come we don't give the ball to cooley on a pitch out or hand off near the goal line, to just pound it in? I mean, he is a fullback in addition to H-Back and Tight-End.

Let's just all pray that Ramsey plays well, since there really isn't anybody out there to get excited about. aren't really any outstanding draft guys, as far as i can tell.
