... and with this team, we'll almost always need it.

Listen,
we all knew our team wasn't good. I knew it, you knew it, we all knew it. They do all the things that keep a team from being good. they blow opportunities. they commit absurd penalties. But let's all chill. We got beat by a better team. much better. it happens. Obviously, if we wanted to contend, we should have beaten teams we could beat, like the browns, cowboys, bengals, etc. We didn't.
But Ramsey looked fine. Didn't mess it up. we all agree the play calling was too conservative.
Let's all remember, they kept it close and they at least had that phenomenal sack on mcnabb which was the most satisfying thing i've seen all year. They didn't keep it up. That's because they're not a very good team.
It's not too early to think about next year. it's just the right time. Still, I think they can pull something together and the skins can close out with a few wins (giants, niners, cowboys) and maybe one upset out of the other three.
well, maybe next year. there will always be next year.
at least we'll get a baseball team today... another team that can lose and ruin my day.

I can't say that I disagree.

I really hoped that Gibb's would pull a Parcell's and take us to 10 and 6 territory, but I never really expected it. I did predict 9 and 7 this year. I'd be real happy with 7 and 9 now.

I think the thing that pisses so many people off is that we clearly have enough talent to compete. Some have even stated that we have the greatest collection of individual talents in the league. But as a team....we couldn't stink more.

Hey, at least one half of the team is playing together, and with heart. The banged up third string defense that we have has been a blessing. Can you imagine if we had the same defense as last year.....Whoo Hooo! Number one overall draft pick baby!

Who has said that? I am talking about our starters at right now! Our WR our our most talented group and they have a habit of dropping any crucial ball and none of them ever goes up and takes a ball from a DB. If you play jump ball with our WR corp and most DB, they average DB will win. Name one you would put in the same class with TO or marvelous Marvin Harrison. Hell our guys aren't even playing up to Bandon Stokely's standards. I wouldn't put any of them in the group of the top 25 WR in this league. Our O line can't run block to save their lives and our RB doesn't fit this system. Our TE/HB are pedistian at best (maybe the worst in the league). Now our defense that is starting right now is playing way over their heads. Gregg Williams has definately got the sum of the whole to be much greater than the some of the parts!

Well, remember how every offseason we win the February superbowl? And if you listen and read enough sports related radio and news media content you will certianly hear someone put the Redskins forward as one of the most talented teams in the league. I'm not going to comb through old newspaper articles to find out precisely who said this or when. We have a laundry list of individually great players. I'm not professing our team to be the best team in the league, but we are far more talented than we play. We, like New Orleans, have a great deal of talent and yet perenially underachieve.

Well, I, for one, would like to see a relatively quiet offseason. here and there a few quiet signings of quality, non-superstar players. No effort to win the offseason spending title. I think the team obviously has a lot of potential... certainly signing a bunch of big name players isn't going to make the difference.

Agreed, fill the holes that need to be filled and promote from within. Seems to have worked well with the Defense this year.

Just in! This from the current standings!

We are looking at our team in comparison to who? the - bills;
fins; any team from texass; titans; squaws; raiderettes; gints; bears; pussys; sinners; $anears; panters; red birds; and 49ers!!

WE ARE NOT THAT BAD! We are just very demanding!

Joe needs time people!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

We don't have much talent. And we're in a position to lose some more...

Samuels is a talent, he may not be having a good year, but he's a talent at a vital position.

He's also GONE.

Let's look at our positions versus the league:

TE is a joke.
OL is a joke.
DL is full of over-acheivers. A sidenote, did anyone notice how Philly does 4 deep (McDougal is injured) with quality at both DT and DE? WE NEED DEPTH like that.
SS is a joke.
P isn't good.
K is a joke.

We may have a talent at QB. I fear I've overestimated our talent at WR (Gardner never turns that final corner, Coles is disappointing ala Samuels..)

We need Talent, and we need a scheme to maximize talent.

to be fair, our punter's been doing great, particularly in the last few games. and our starting kicker is out. as far as the WRs, i think you might be right. Coles is supposed to be the go-to guy, and he just isn't doing it. Then again, Ramsey had some major overthrows.

I disagree on a few points.

Our safeties are GREAT! We're playing 2nd and 3rd string guys and you say they're bad? They held tight with Philly for a good portion of the game and have kept our defense ranked high!
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

Are you insane.....We don't have much talent?!?!?!

L. Arrington, Smoot, Springs, Taylor, Griffin, Samuels, Jansen, Coles, Gardner, Jacobs, Ramsey.......All first rounders if I'm not mistaken......Fully half of our starters were first round picks!

Its been our owners constant turnover in pursuit of talent that has gotten us where we are today. I suppose you would advise another major free agency splash?

How can you say our TE's and Punter are a joke. How can you say our 1st, second, and even third string SS is a joke? What are you comparing us too?

Its not our lack of talent ists our lack of a consistent coach, scheme, personell, culture of losing, etc. We ARE talented.....we are just underachievers.
