No tough choices...

What does Fletcher being unsigned have to do with how many pro-bowl level players not on rookie deals?

They have 51 players under contract and about 20 of them are on their rookie deals. They only have four players from the previous FO that are still on their rookie deals, so ...

What this really says is two things: one is that the Skins did well to get out from underneath so many big contracts during the uncapped year which has put them in a solid position going forward.

The other is that with Fletcher unsigned, the Skins basically don't have a single pro-bowl level ...

They traded Cassell because they couldn't afford to keep him--his breakout year was also his contract year, and they traded him from under the franchise tag.

No financial decision has to be made on Mallett for at least two more years. If the Pats are willing to let him go for anything other than ...

Gotta give the man credit, though. Not having surgery hurts nobody more than it does Landry. Nobody's going to give him more than a prove-it deal and when he does finally get the surgery, chances are he'll miss far more time than he would have if he'd gotten it done in December.

If he really ...

Mallett's a non-starter. Tom Brady's turning 35 this year and the Pats need to start thinking about continuity. Specifically, if Mallett can step in and take over, they'd be insane to let him leave. So if he's available, it's because they think he can't get the job done (see: Brady Quinn leaving ...

Did you watch the game? Rogers didn't play extremely well--he started off disastrous and was playing not-terribly toward the end (about when the 49ers pass rush got through). Victor Cruz was generally too quick for him, but he's been generally too quick for everybody who's tried to cover him this ...

Personnel-wise we have a good defense. Haslett is awful. He blitzes every play and refuses to change. We would be top 5 again if he was not here. And if we could get a safety to stay healthy for more than a couple days.

I agree with this. Haslett is simply not a good coach, and his career track ...

Flynn's not getting anywhere close to $30M, much less $60. The Kolb and Cassel contracts aren't comparable. Both of those were based on two factors: GMs unwilling to let a trade acquisition walk after one year, and QBs/agents unwilling to sign long-term deals for a much lower average than current ...

What ever happened to poorly performing teams getting easier schedules the next year?

It never existed. Only two games a year are determined by prior year's record. It's why the Skins play the Rams and Vikings and the Giants play the Packers and 49ers, but otherwise doesn't do a whole lot of ...

None of the guys that you named went to other teams which would be the case of Flynn. Schaub is an example, but he had several consecutive starts because of injury. Does Flynn have the tools of Schaub? Arm strength?

It is rare that the kind of back ups who have spot start duty experience go to ...

Bradford's contract has $20 million in gurantees over the next two years, so not only will he cost in players and picks but will eat up cap space on the team that he goes to. This normally doesn't happen, noramally the team that signed him would be on the hook for pro rated money (the Rams will be ...

What are you talking about?? The Eagles and Cardinals had no problem completing the deal for Kevin Kolb after the lockout ended.

Bradford's worth about as much in trade right now as Brady Quinn was when the Broncos got him. It's the ultimate too-good-to-be-true offer, and this goes double for Sanchez--if he's on the block, it's because the people with the most access to him (Bradford or Sanchez) think he can't play.

There's really no comparison. Beck had two obvious red flags that Flynn does not.

1) When he started, he wasn't very good (charitably). Flynn has been.
2) When the Skins acquired Beck, two different front offices had given up on him (i.e. why he was available in the first place). Flynn's only ...

If the draft order is unchanged, it's almost unthinkable that either the Jags or Rams, both teams with significant needs across the roster, don't auction their pick to teams looking to leapfrog the Skins.

Yeah, that's absurd. Diving contact to the plant foot while planted. Sav's fault for not hopping as he kicks (at least as far as any potential injury goes), but that's pretty textbook as far as why roughing's a major/15 yard in the first place.

It's not HGH, as a) the NFL doesn't currently test for it; b) it would violate the policy on PEDs, not the substance abuse policy.

How did they do it? They played and broadcast fewer games and paid the players a LOT less.

Which isn't to say that you're not right. The NFL are being greedy. They'd call it 'maximizing revenue' and it's the same thing. Pricing some people out of the market is usually one of the results. I don't ...
