I agree with your assessment. With a 17-0 lead and driving and it is 2 and 3 and you are pounding the ball. Why not run until they stop you.

The second part, you are dead on. If Kyle had a QB (Matt Schaub) who knows how to run his O, he could mix it up and be the number 1 O in the league like he did in Houston.

The margin of error is too then with Rex. If the run is successful, you have got to stay with it when you have a big lead.

rex grossman is REX GROSSMAN he will look good one or two drives and then BAM int here int there ...... so this is how its going to be the entire season its going to get bumpy.torrain looked fresh hitting holes hardnice three rbs we have.

didn't we know what we were getting with him. He has ALWAYS had bad throws. If he played flawless people would still find a reason to want a switch.

Beck is on the bench for a reason, and the reason is because he is not as good as Grossman.

I guess. I just can't really think that he'd really be any worse. Grossman was horrific today. He had a 48.5 passer rating. More troubling was that you just cannot trust him, at all, to make a throw when needed. If that's the case, how could Beck (or heck, anyone) be a worse choice?

Rex is a limited QB - no arm - you can't call certain plays and expect to be successful. No mobility - you can't call your staple boot as much as you want to. Once Rex is trapped, he can't make plays with his feet. He often doesn't read the linebacker (how many times have you heard Rex say, I didn't see the linebacker?). He makes poor decisions at least one or two a game. The defense has played very well the last two games, but the O has failed to do it's part and score the points. Do you really change QBs when your team has a winning record? No coach would so such a thing!!! No coach! Period! Whaaat? Hold it a second.... I am wrong - some coach named Mike Shanahan did it in Denver - pulling Jake Plummer, a QB he liked for Jay Cutler, a QB he coveted. He likes Grossman. He covets Beck.

Maybe now is not the time, but Rex is Rex. The handwriting is on the wall. Take away the Moss tip ball and you still have an O that doesn't move except for when Torain came in and saved the day.

With Rex, this team is going nowhere. We will win more ugly games like this one. Will will lose more ugly games like last week. If the defense scores and we get the opposition to do boneheaded personal fouls we will win games like we did against the Giants. Rex is streaky and can play like an All-pro at times, but with him at the helm. Where is this team going?

For Shanny, the question is, when is the right time to do it. My guess is Rex starts against Philly and if we are listless on O - to spark the team, Beck will come off the bench. Rex's days this season are numbered.

Why Beck? His upside, compared to Grossman is too good. He has an arm. He has the mobility. He is susceptible to mistakes, but that is because of lack of experience - chances are he will grow. We know Rex won't grow.

I don't know why everyone jumping on Rex. He had oner bad play and it was a poss that should never have been called. 5 min to go in the game, a D that is playing lights out, a RB running st 7 yards per carry WHY NOT JUST RUN THE DAMN BALL!

The first int should have been a first down to Moss. It hit him right in the helmet. Rex made a lot of good decisions today and threw a lot of balls away instead of forcing things. The pick was as much Kyle's fault as it was Rex's. Run the stinking ball. Pick up the first down and run out the clock.

Rex and the Shannys need to work with Rex on locating the MLB when he goes to play action. That is two weeks in a route that he has thrown a pick to a LB jew didn't see.

Yes it does feel good to be 3-1. I have a feeling Rex will be benched later on in the season. I am curious to see how Beck will play?

You raised a very good point. It never should have come down to Rex throwing any interceptions if we would have just run the damn ball. I think most everyone on these boards said before the season, that the Skins would surely run the ball this year, because of Grossman or Beck playing QB. Why is it that the THN folks get this and Kyle doesn't? Think about, if Kyle ran Torain until they stopped him ( which they didn't) - Rex would have come out like a great game manager for this game and this might not be a topic on this thread.

But here's the deal, if Kyle insists on doing his thing, he is going to have to put a QB in who has the capability to do his thing.

You raised a very good point. It never should have come down to Rex throwing any interceptions if we would have just run the damn ball. Unless you have the game tape, it's tough to tell what the opposing defense is doing. They may have 8 in the box and would stop us for no gain. It's really tough to question calls sitting in our living room with no view to the entire field.

I've been lobbying for him since the start of the season. He hits the hole hard on every run. I like Hightower, but he looks for the cutback every time, sometime, you just have to hit the hole & take the 3 yards which is what Torain does. Torain is the starter week 6 as far as I'm concerned. Hightower the 3rd down back and give him an occasional drive when looking for the HR.

I love it too. It looked like the effects of his injury were still lingering, but it was nice to see him not break the 'Skins backs, like he has done every time in the past

I am trying to find a restaurant that serves the best crow. I thought that with Hightower and Helu around, there would be no chance for Torain to get carries like the in the first three games.

Concerning Haslett's all out blitz call on Jackson's TD.

I defended Haslett on his all out blitz call against Dallas because we weren't getting much of a pass rush, BUUUT, that all out blitz call on the Jackson play was senseless. We were consistently getting pressure with the other blitzes. Asking Hall, a corner, to cover Dez, one on one, is one thing, but asking Orakpo to cover Jackson out of the backfield after making a move to the QB is asking is asking too much.

Maybe Orakpo played it wrong and he should not have rushed until he confirmed that Jackson was blocking, but why have a guy who was having a stellar day rushing the passer not be able to rush the passer.

Even if Rak comes out and says I screwed it up, there was no reason to call it. I hope Haslett shows more restraint in using it after that. I don't advocate never using it again, because in order for the fake all out blitz to work, you have to all out blitz and when used right it can be effective and Haslett has proven that - but it it will always be a big risk/reward call. Damned if you doesn't work and hero if it does.

I think Orakpo would have had a better chance stopping the throw to Jackson if he had just rushed and tried to get to Bradford before he could pass it.

IMO he messed up, but whatever. They will hopefully learn from that. I thought they learned from the Kerrigan coverage last game but I guess not.

Down in Texas, where I grew up, there is an old saying, "There is more than one way to skin a rattlesnake." Such is the case in getting that franchise QB. Who saw coming what Shannihan did in this past draft? I will let Shannahan figure out how to ge that franchise QB.

I would like a third choice to get Luck. I'd do anyone except Williams on offense and no one except Mccintosh or Carriker on D.

Ok, right now, Minnesota, Colts, Dolphins or St. Louis have the number one draft choice, so if the NFL season comes to halt after tomorrow - tie breaker rules prevail (Don't know how they work).

You can rule out the Rams taking him because of Bradford. Doubt the Vikings take him, because they took Ponder (going by what we know now which is not much) and have so many other needs, if those two end up with the pick. There should be willing to deal. If the Dolphins or the Colts have the pick, they ain't dealing - no way - no how.
