I don't think we're legit contenders yet but ....
I do think a lot of teams are going to be generally surprised at the difference in intensity they will see we now are playing with
I'm looking forward to seeing more progress here
this first game is going to show some teams that this franchise is no longer going to quit playing hard after the first 3 quarters

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I'm sick of your defeatist crap.
I don't CARE if Luck is Jesus in cleats, nobody who cares about this team wants us to get him your way. YOU(r posts) suck, not this team, and I'm sick of your 'oh so clever' catch phrase. At least have the decency to allow threads which specifically indicate they are not looking for your response to be only for fans.

Just don't see how someone can want their team to suck that bad, tank, etc, all for one player who has NEVER played a down in the NFL, for all we know he could be the biggest bust in NFL history. Someone did a comparison between not top 10 and top 10 QB's I believe. If memory serves me correctly, the not top 10 QB's / first rounders were better.
Anyways, with that said, I think the Giants aren't the team they use to be, they've slowly been deteriorating over the last couple of years, hence their second half of the season failures.
They still are a competitive team, don't get me wrong, but I think they are just getting older (injuries are showing it) and are losing players left and right. The Redskins on the opposite are younger, have a coach planting a system in that works with the players he has and a defense that is more hard hitting. They make you think twice about catching the ball around them.
Anyways, I think our new o line is the answer the the game. Might not be new new, but it certainly did its job last season against the Giants that second game. Grossman put up 300+ on them then, now we have better RB's and receivers. Just don't see the Giants winning.
Still going to be close, 24-17 Redskins, maybe a little bigger, but nothing huge.
Ready for Week 1!!!!!

There are a lot of fans here that have better records of predicting winners and loser than "The Swami" over the past 5 years
Actually MUCH better records over that time frame

ALL of those predictors this week are predicting a Redskins' win
whose "opinion" do you 'trust'? - a proven loser or a bunch of proven 'winners'

I trust very few predictions when it comes to football games because the game is so unpredictable. You can do all the research in the world but all it takes is one person to hit the ball carrier in a certain way, he drops the ball, and that's game. I personally can always find ways for a Redskins win, but I figured I'd share what the "experts" are saying about the game. This is, however, one man's word out of the 20-30 different analysts you can find on ESPN.
27-20 Skins. Not as close as it sounds... G-men get a cheapie late when we're in prevent. We dominate the trenches and control the clock for 35 minutes.
The Giants may have our number the past few years, but they're ripe for the picking with all of their injuries. Eli lost his trusty center, whom he counted on for help, and he'll be staring at a guy who has been practicing with him for years (Cofield). It will be a very different dynamic for BOTH teams in this match-up.
We're coming out on top baby.

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Do you all honestly think the Redskins will score over that many points? Most of you have us scoring over 20 points in this game. Why is no one on this board realistic?
It's just amazing how prophetic this guy is. You can just about taste the irony of the self-proclaimed "realistic" prognostication.

He must be a weather forecaster in real life. He looks at all the computer models but never actually looks outside his window. They said there was a good chance of a thunderstorm at the Game today. They were right. The Redskins defense rained on the Giants Parade and his prediction.

I don't think that's a fair expectation against the Giants, though, because they aren't a lesser opponent. They were 10-6 last year and beat us twice. I can understand that sentiment when we play the Panthers and Bills, but certainly not the Giants. Have we closed the gap on them? I think so. Are they a "lesser opponent"? Not at all.
Yes, today they were lesser opponent, and we put them away. I loved it. It was especially nice, because a bunch of G-strings fans crashed our Redskins bar here in Atlanta. They were crying half way through the 3rd quarter.

no worries - I was just making the point that there is NO analyst at ESPN that has as good a 'record' at predicting NFL games as the middle of the order Hognosticators at TheHogs.net
NOT ONE ANALYST - that's pretty amazing, don't you think?

THIS is where you go for the best NFL 'analysts' http://www.the-hogs.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36804
and we do it for fun - you should give it a try
