Re: DM wants "release" after 2010 season......

First off this is a business, and nothing is guaranteed. We don't owe McNabb anything but 3.5 million for this year, no apology, no starting job, no parking spot next to the stadium, nothing else. If he beats out other QB's for the position next year, then he gets more.

Everyone deserves a base ...

Fair assessment. The only thing I disagree with is the questioning of Perry Riley. I think he could turn out to be a big asset to the defense.

Thanks Homie!! Something about Riley at LSU was that during stretches of games he was more of a "wait-and-see" tackler

McNabb wasn't acquired via free ...

So what? Emmit Smith loves beating the Redskins. Skins players and their fans love beating the Cowboys. What is so bad about that? And who cares what he said about the OWNER of the football team. Last time I checked, DS is not Jack Kent Cooke, and he certainly isn't Joe Gibbs or any other classy ...

Funny. I was going to say something along that line, but I'll say the season was lost when the schedule was made last year and the Redskins had to suit up and play the games.

I don't think any professional athlete cares about the draft position for the next year. They will try to win; however, I do think the organization should look at the situation--the Skins may not have a chance to win more than one more game this year--and start playing some of the young guys to see ...

Wuerfell to Jacobs, TD! Actually I don't remember if they were here the same year or not and don't care enough to look it up. But I will say we have the core of the inaugural class of the pre-season Hall of Fame!

It is kind of a weird thing about the preseason. I thought fans were supposed to be so much more knowledgeable about the game because of all the time people spend playing fantasy football???

Personally I learned a hard lesson about the preseason the year Spurrier beat up on the 49ers in Japan. I ...

The Skins should draft one of the following players, in this order:

Ray Maualuga LB USC
Gerald McCoy DT OK
Terrence Cody DT AL
Eugene Monroe OT VA

I would love to see any of the top three and at the very least McCoy should be available.

The Skins should try to sign only two FAs the next ...

And how do you positively prove this? Or is this just more negative speculation?

More hyperbole. CUT EVERYONE!

And I am sure some of you (if not all of you) have but I thought I would bring this up.

The Skins have scored 231 points this season, 9 less than the 0-14 Lions (who they almost lost to), 42 more than the Rams (who they lost to), 57 more than the Bangles (who they lost to), and 23 less than the 2 ...

I haven't seen enough to believe he could be a productive RB and there is probably a reason he doesn't get more carries. IMO Riggins had better feet, vision and burst to/in the hole. Sellers is very good at the position he plays, but probably lacks the skills mentioned above to be a starting RB and ...

The wagles are not better than their record. They have been a mediocre team since the SB loss and worse than mediocre when McNab is QB. It is 2008 people, not 2003. The world and the NFC is better now and the Eagles have not caught up.

That said we need 11 wins to get in the playoffs - not ...

As much as I'd like to see it, based on talent, I can't see us finishing ahead of the Giants in the division. I think we have a great chance at a wildcard. I also have difficulty believing that the Bucs are good enough for a 13-3 record, meaning that they'll go 8-1 the rest of the way.

After ...

I hate to jinx the Skins, but I think it's fun to prognosticate about the playoffs.

My prediction for the NFC East:
Redskins: 12-4
Giants: 11-5
Cowboys: 9-7
Eagles: 8-8

NFC Playoffs: Bucs (13-3) (1), Redskins (2), Cardinals (11-5) (3), Packers (8-8), (4), Giants (5), Panthers (10-6), (6 ...

A few thoughts on the 'Skins this season:

1. How good does that loss to the Giants look now? At the time, I thought the team played poorly, but seeing how the Giants are destroying other teams, I think the 'Skins are right where they should be. I don't think they are better than the Giants right ...

Texas Hog: I can understand your homer approach, but the Skins need help to get in, and the Cowpies beating Detroit would help. And on a side note, if the Pies make the SB against the Patriots, I will root for the Pies all night long. In fact, I would hope the final score would be Pies 52 Pats 7.

Do we have a QB conterversey brewing in DC? I say that a bit tounge in cheek, but Collins has looked good. He looks comfortable and smooth in the pocket. My favorite play of the 07 season by far. I think Sellers is my favorite player on this team. They need to get him the ball more often. It is fun to watch him dish out punishment on the defense.

Colin Cowherd brought up a good point about two important stats in the NFL the other day:

3rd down efficiency and take-aways/give-aways. Both are the true mark of a playoff team. The Skins are great on 3rd down this year, but most troubling is their -2 in TA/GA. I think that will improve, but the ...
